Yesterday on a PBEM turn I had a fortress move from Norfolk to Petersburg. The original fortress in Norfolk was destroyed by siege when, despite the replay showing a southern army moving in to evict the union besiegers, the turn itself showed no such move and the fortress was destroyed. Alright, annoying but it can be dealt with. So, since a fort in Norfolk seemed real important to me I husbanded my scarce iron (playing Southern Steel) and built a level 1 fort to replace the level 2 fort that was destroyed. Two turns latter my fort arrives and I stick a garrison in it. The turn after that, it moves from Norfolk to Petersburg. If movable forts are going to stay in the game can I command them where I want them to go? Sort of like prototype panzers? (the last 2 sentences are in jest of course).

Nothing like this has ever been reported for (or is even possible, as I understand how forts are implemented). Are you sure that the fort is considered by the game to be in a different province, or is this a graphics issue? For graphics-related reasons, forts are not welded in place, but move around a bit within a province when one or more armies are present, in order for all of them to be represented. So could what you're seeing be the fort being drawn in a different spot because of an army and looking like it's switched provinces? (If you mouse over it will tell you where the game thinks the fort is.)

I will check to make sure Gil. I saw it on the replay last night when I finished my turn and watched the replay before sending it to my opponent and it was a definitely a WTF moment. I was hoping it was nothing more than a screwy replay as I have seen (and reported) previously, but this morning I had the next turn from my opponent and the fort was still in Petersburg. Now I understand what you are saying about the forts being redrawn sometimes, and have seen that, and will definitely check when I get home tonight. But both Norfolk and Petersburg were empty of other units so it hardly seems likely that the provinces needed to be redrawn in the first place; and in the second place, when the forts get redrawn you usually don't see them move. I actually saw this fort march from one province to the next like you would see an army container do.

I have checked Gil and the level 1 fort that was built in Norfolk definitely marched into Petersburg and that is where it currently resides. It was not simply redrawn into another part of Norfolk. Files to Eric again I assume?

Hi GShock. I'm a relative newbie to FoF, so please forgive my ignorance, but what team do you mean?
