For Allies just take the last three numbers, so in this case you should be looking for TF 116. For Japan take the last three, but then add a digit in front. I forget what digit it is, but when you are playing Japan it will be obvious because they all begin with the same digit.

Japanese get the same leading digit 8. This digit seems to signal a Task Force Sequence number in the range 1 to 999 rather than separation of nationalities. This means in practice that Japan and the Allies could have a fleet 8001 in game at the same time.

TFs run from 14001 upwards. There is no separation in to an Allied or Japanese range.
The short TF number is the last 3 digits for both sides.

Reference to 8xxx is probably refering to the scenario startup which start at 8000+, but get relocated to 14000+ on start.

Maarten,

This information is available in WitP Tracker. See the image for an example of this.

Note that this screen will only show information for your own bases.

Hi Maarten,

Now that I look at this for the first time, it appears that there is no specific functionality to dump a csv file containing only the information shown in the sample screen I supplied above. I will delve a bit deeper into this for you and see if their is an alternative data dump that could be used.

Back in a bit.

Ok Maarten I have found a method to get the information that you are looking for. It will contain a bit more than necessary

See the included image. This shows the output generated by selecting the options in the overlayed 'Export to CSV' dialog box.

Damien or Floyd, I've just remembered to mention something I see in Tracker as the Allied player.  Air groups that I have withdrawn show up on the Alerts page each turn.  They are listed as location "Unknown Base" or something similar.  Is this something you have already seen and corrected?  I believe I'm using the most recent Tracker build that you have released (pre beta patch release of AE also.)  If this is a new one, let me know, and I'll provide exact version numbers, a screen shot, and a save if you need them to debug.

I thought I had them all - I'd better check again. The other way with this screen is to select all from the table ctrl+c (copy) and then in xls ctrl+v (paste)

Doesn't work with some screens but will with this one.

Same in my (previous) game. I think i removed the group BEFORE i saved the turn to import into Tracker.
Since that i get each turn a message in "alerts".

NO Maarten, that is not what Damian said at all

He actually was stating that he needs to check what reports are currently available in the export functionality and ensure that it is a complete set.

Okay, this will be in the next release.

Is there anything else we may have left out of the export function?

I don't know if you could include this idea in the next release (if you wish to use it at all that is).

It would be great to have a supplemental panel where one can select which columns are exported.

That's a bit harder - and it's prettty easy to delete columns in Excel/Calc...

That I know....

Good programmers are naturally lazy.....

Not impossible though, a few radio buttons and a dynamically constructed select statement.

EDIT:

It has just occurred to me that one of these sentences is ambiguous....
I am not suggesting anybody other than myself is lazy.....

I think of myself less as "lazy" and more as "globally efficient". Doing this in the program would take a few hundred lines of code (there are a lot of classes that need to pass information around here), while the good people at Microsoft and OpenOffice.org made it just a few mouse clicks to hide or remove colums.

Trying to get a new PBEM going but I don't seem to get tracker back in working order.

In my old install tracker loads fine, but refuses to load the new turn 1, saying " A later turn has been loaded already" . Any easy fix for this?

Also tried a fresh install, but got the following:

HELP!

This is as simple problem I believe.

In case you are not aware, the trackerdb files can only contain one game at a time.
To start a new game, you need to make copies of files trackerdb.script, trackerdb.properties, trackerdb.data and trackerdb.backup (assuming the current data files are still of some value).

Then delete the file trackerdb.script and trackerdb.data and trackerdb.backup.
Update the trackerdp.properties file with the correct information.

Start the game and set up the game. Just getting the first turn started is sufficient and then save it to the save file number mentioned in the trackerdb.properties file with the correct password.

Once that is all done, restart tracker and it should build a nice clean database for you with the first turn data already loaded.
Then import the regional definitions of your choice and you are ready to go.
