Would it be possible to add Troop Load Cost and Cargo Load Cost to the LCU .csv export?

It would help with with transport and amph TF planning.

Thanks, Keith

Well the Base 'Load' in the csv does show the total of that (cargo + troop)

I can't be sure, but I think one of my sunken minelayers just got turned into a resort in Singapore. Although 'The Mine Lair' would be a great name for a bar.

This ship was definitely sunk and is off the roster in game but Tracker gave me repaired alert about it recently. Perhaps it is just a quirk of the repair system in game or maybe it is something else. Just wanted to share.

Sadly (for you), not a dream. It was a little missing bit of logic in the code to not generate the alert if the ship is sunk.

Though you could say that repairs are "complete" on a sunk ship...

The 'base load' is different than just adding the troop and cargo load costs together.

For amphib planning you don't want to add them together anyway because the ships don't load that way. Ships have separate troop and cargo space.

I imported the csv into a spreadsheet and made formulae to add 30% (I like to overestimate a little bit). So, for each LCU I want to amphib load I have two cells (columns for multiple LCU's) that are (troop+30%) and (cargo+30%). Then when I make up amphib convoys I can pick the right ships without experimenting.

For a few additional units it's quicker to not even bother with another csv, I just type in the unit name, the troop load, and the cargo load and the '+30%' figures are calculated for me.

Hope this helps. PM if you want me to send you a sample spreadsheet.

I take it back ... and am humbled by your organisational skills (truthfully). Can I have a look at the spreadsheet cause it might be a nice addition after we've humbled the DB load times... if ever that happens

I'm starting a new Scenario 1 PBEM game and trying to initialize a new tracker db in it's own folder, using 1.6.1.  My partner has already entered a password for our Allied side, and I've opened up our Allied save using this password, so I know it's correct.  Tracker throws a Password Mismatch error when it tries to load the save to initialize the db.

I've verified all of the properties settings are correct.  Is there by any chance a minimum length for the password that Tracker expects?  Ours is not very long, but it does work for the game to open the turn.

And his partner has not installed tracker.

Steve, once I get mine up and running (it's bumming me out because I've already had this version of tracker working for my AI campaign game) I'll put on my "easy button" hat and we'll get you up and running.

OK, just got my issue straightened out.  When I first opened the turn is asked me to "Select" Player 2 password.  It had apparently not been captured in the save file, however I do see my partner's orders saved.  Must be some issue with the first Allied turn mechanics.  Just wanted to update here, and now back to orders.

I assume you mean that you got the first turn without having set the allied password and tried to read it into tracker.
Or did you open the turn, then set the allied password and then save it and then try to read it into tracker and had a problem?

Just interested to know ... glad you got it working and if AW1Steve needs some help let me know.
Cheers

Promises, promises. Seriously , I've not put the effort into it that I probably should have. I've always used Sprior's system , "That looks about right".

And there's nothing about the minimum length. Since the maximum password length is 8 characters, WitPTracker ignores anything after the first 8. But I believe even a 1-character password works fine.

Damian, the second is how I got it to work. Steve had worked on the turn before me, and I assumed he had selected a password for our side.

I ran into an unexpected problem with a Da Babes game. I guess the game's database grew too big. I tried to load a turn and it gave me a longish Java exception list. Then, this morning, as I tried to reproduce the error, it loaded the turn normally.

I will post the exception list if and when it happens again, but I wanted to give a heads up.

Small bug in the "Industry panel", tab "oil&res": sorting the columns "oil produced" and "res produced" sorts by the first number, not the entire value (so 900 is above 1000, for instance).

Panel "Aircraft": for the Allies, column "build rate" shows the Allied replacement rate. However, there's also a production rate for the Allied planes. The US Army B-25C Mitchell for instance has a production rate of 20, and a replacement rate of 0. In tracker, it shows up with a build rate of 0.

It is correct in "Air Production", but not in the data set "Aircraft".

Oh, I understand. Yeah that is because this is on map production at LA. My information is the same as the editor which shows build rate as 0. The aircraft panel is not really geared for both build rate + on map production, that's why it's in the air production panel.

[edit] I guess it could be changed ... I'll think about it.

Don't. For some reason, I didn't use the "Air production" screen to figure out the Allied... uh, air production...

Damian and/or floyd, can you tell me approximately how many threads you open in Tracker? I am investigating my memory problems and am curious. BTW, I seem to have better luck opening larger databases using a smaller -Xms parameter. I'm still looking at this to see what is happening.

Hmm ... did you just overwrite the witptracker.jar or make a new folder? My thoughts are that you haven't extracted all the jar's properly. Do you have 3 files in your lib folder ?

Maybe do a completely new install of tracker just to see ...

Also we're at 1.6.1

Got to get to work now so answers as I can ...

Did you get a memory message at the end of the "Error occurred during initialization of VM", in which case you need to look at your memory settings in the batch file or use the "nomap" option

java -Xms128m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar" nomap
pause

Gotta go ... drop back in when I get to work.

Mike ~ I've not encountered this problem much before... lucky you!

3 possible reasons:
1: You don't have all the Tracker files in the correct folders. There should be 3 jar files in the lib folder and the main witptracker.jar in the tracker folder.
2: It isn't pathing to your Java installation correctly;
quote:

Solution 1. Check you have Java JRE 32bit installed.
Solution 2. Move the WitPTracker folder to the Desktop or C:\
Solution 3. Copy java.exe from your C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin to the WitPTracker folder (remember copy not move)
Solution 4. Change your witptracker.bat file to point to the 32 bit Java executable (you need the quotes because of the space) - this varies on different machines so you'll need to check the path:

32bitOS users
C:\"Program Files"\Java\jre6\bin\java -Xms384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"
pause
64bitOS users
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"
pause

3. *** Your Java installation is somehow corrupted. Uninstall and reinstall.

Sorry for the trouble
