Question: do you copy more than the .pws file to the WitPTracker folder? I'm not seeing alerts or SigInt (the batch file explicitly said it could not load the latter). Or is this part of the Windows 7 'VirtualStore' problem?

Glad you got it working Pascal - sounds like you had a bit of frustration with it.

Alerts are generated by Tracker by comparing one turn to the next - so two turns must be loaded before you'll see any. If you are loading a Dec 7 turn before you've run the turn; then there will be no SigInt files generated and there will be this error. Although I think your problem is about not copying the SigInt file over to the Tracker folder.

Still the whole situation of copying files would annoy me ...

So can I suggest trying to change the path in your witptracker.properties file. It looks like you installed witpAe to a programs folder in win7 (correct?)... I'd not do this in the future but have it as c:\matrix games\... Win7's security is annoying, but is there for a reason(so they say).

Dir=[C:\Users\Papa\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\WitPAE1\SAVE]
or maybe (as I don't have win7 ???)
Dir=[C:\Program Files (x86)\WitPAE1\SAVE]
& make sure
SaveMode=[2]

Also I use multi-read even if I'm loading a single turn; so I suggest making a shortcut folder in the tracker folder that points to where your saves are ... this way you can navigate directly to the save folder for AE when reading a turn (turn 2 onwards)

Good luck

Hi, I'm having difficulty getting tracker to read the 2nd file of my PBEM. I've tried copying the files into the Tracker directory and changing the target directory from the root AE directory to the AE/save directory but nothing seems to work.

I'm sure it must be something simple but I'm stumped.

Also, is there a simple explanation of how to set the regions within tracker? I've imported Kull's settings and they are pretty good but there are a couple I want to re-assign slightly.

Here's my Tracker Properties file settings:

Dir=[C:\Games\Admiral's Edition\save]
GameType=[1]
Side=[0]
Password=[removed]
SaveFile=[wpae011.pws]
SaveMode=[1]

I am playing as Japan, in a PBEM. I've removed the password for obvious reasons.

I'm using Vista 64 and had no trouble loading the first turn.

With a SaveMode of 1, it's looking for the file in C:\Games\Admiral's Edition\save\save, which I assume doesn't exist. The Dir directory should be where the game itself is installed. You can try setting SaveMode to 0 and it will look in the WitPTracker folder for the file.

Another option is to use the Multi-turn read and then navigate to the exact folder where the save file is, select that folder and then the save file should appear in the next dialog box for reading.

In the Bases panel, click on a region cell in the table and a menu of all defined regions will appear to set the region for that base.

Well, unfortunately that didn't work so I decided to delete Tracker and re-install it freshly.

I checked Java was up to date and re-installed the vcredist file ( which was the only one I needed previously ) and then re-installed it.

Now it won't even open.

Here's a picture of the screen which shows when I try to run Tracker

P.s. Previously whenever I tried the multiturn read it would just freeze.

Nemo121,
you should have left the vcredist as it was - the program was working. I would have just had to walk you through the multi-turn. Although from your PS. it seems there is more going on and a hangup... care to send me the two turns via email so I can have a look ?

I guess you have overwritten the 32 bit vcredist with a 64bit version. You may have to uninstall the vcredist you've installed and then install this one vcredist_x86.exe

I made a video here for installation

I reinstalled the same file as last time. I know since I just unpacked it from the same file. So I don't see how that could be it even though it probably is. Gotta love windows.

I'll send u the files and the password and look at the video this evening. Thanks.

Not one of my best vid's but it's all in there. I've seen Windows muck other users around with this too ... the vcredist is very finicky .

As for the hang-up; I've just had a hangup with the Marianna's Scen which I'm looking into the cause. I just wonder if some of the changes you've made in Downfall "Light as a feather" version are causing a lock up too. I won't know until I see what's going on.

Can you send me an update of the scenario while you're emailing me too ...

Thanks

PS. Seen what's happened to GG ? (no not Gary Grigsby)

PPS. I just ran EA:Armageddon 2 turns no problems...

Never ever install a game in your "Programs" Folder in Win7. Win7 prevents programs to write to it. It redirects writes to "virtualstore".

Install all games in subfolders to something like "C:\Games". That saves you a lot of trouble.

I think I'm having an issue as well Damian, I don't know if it's the same. Thanks.

Here's what I see.

Seems like it's more files in the tracker folder than the past.

and here's what I see after trying to load, I may have messed it up while playing under the influence of something mind altering.

Thanks for everything my friend!

The .lck file is from another execution that didn't exit cleanly.

The error message means you ran out of memory.

Yes, this seems to be the only 'remedy' to the crazy system.

Is it currently possible to track which unit got additional devices or upgrades ?
I know that i can loot at each unit but there seems to be no general overview of it. This is quite usable to see where your devices are going to an to turn upgrades on/off during the game to avoid units to take wrong upgrades.

Yes, in the Devices display, select the device you want to see and click the Device History button in the bottom right corner. It lists all units that currently have that device and any changes for the last turn. I use this frequently to track the flow of my replacements and upgrades.

Man, I really need to figure out what is wrong with my computer & tracker.  I can't get it to run.  I'll have to mess with it tonight to see if someone here can help me get it squared away.

Mike - I'm off to bed now ... please post a screen shot of the error message and I'll get back to you tomorrow sometime...

If this is the same error as before I'd really start with uninstalling Java and reinstalling it again. The 32 bit version ...

If that doesn't fix it then it's a Java pathing problem that I'll have to talk you through.
.. or you can have a look at this (might be something in you windows install)

With the help of Nemo121; I found a number of errors on the LCUProduction screen. I've cleaned it up a little, standardised some and fixed these bugs:
1. LCU's AV, LoadCost and Percent is now the same as the LCU screen.
2. Removed APLoad.
3a. LCU's with disabled sqd incorrectly showed Manpower use; there is none when they are disabled.
3b. Arm and Veh are correct.
4. Added InPool in the bottom, but I might take is out and show the TOE numbers total instead.
5. Calculations for the Delay and Reinf Need were wrong (shift up)

Some problems still remain and I'm trying to think of some solutions. Here are the problems (I'm still testing and some of this below is just what I think is happening):
1. when a LCU arrives and there are enough devices in pool then no Points are used.
2. When a LCU arrives at less than TOE, the points are removed but as it fills out no more points are expended.
3. When a LCU is damaged, the total points are removed, it fills out over time with no further expenditure.
3. IF there aren't enough points then it draws points each turn until full.

Other things (I think - still testing)
1. Devices built (build rate) cost HI not ARM/VEH points.

Follow up ...

Finally figured it out (slapping hand against head). Devices are added at HI cost - then slowly filter into (used) the LCU.

Will now add up all the devices and make a global calculation of ARM/VEH cost instead of per LCU. Delayed units will remain the same... but I better go back through and check the cost.

Did your previous turns load completely? Can you make another install and test the last two turns. If there is an error please send the files to us so we can have a look... it looks like an airgroup upgrade error.

Otherwise for now ... wipe the DB and try again. Unless Floyd comes along with some better advice.
Sorry.

No, I probably wouldn't have had better advice. This case is when there are no air groups read from the database. Sounds bad and not easy to fight the war like that...

Did you copy the "lib" folder over as well? The database functions are in the lib folder and that's what it looks like it's complaining about not finding.
