Well can that be changed?
AFAIk the only devices not working outside of the combat mode are engineers, so the mod shouldn't matter but here I'm also not sure about the strategic mod.

Of course it can be changed. Once it's confirmed the modes the different support values function in...

OK - finished putting some touches on this ... this is not from a normal scenario(JWE's econ mod)

- seems cluttered might have to redo the whole thing but this is what I'm going with. If there are no daily numbers then it doesn't show up.
-Also added some mouse over tool tips as well.

On the LCU production screen there are four columns with different delays (M,A,V, and just delay). What are those different designations for?

delay = the no of days until arrival
Delay M.Pts = Manpower points to equip the unit to 100% TOE;
Delay Arm.Pts = Armament points to equip the unit to 100% TOE;
Delay Veh.Pts = Vehicle points to equip the unit to 100% TOE;

This is worked out mathematically but still is an inexact number given the large number of interactions being worked apon ;-)

Not until Floyd rolls it into the code base - don't think it'll be too long this time though. Got one more thing to do with summary of pilots as there has been some fuss about the 50K limit. I'll give that to Floyd tonight / tomorrow morning(I hope)

Sorry you've been waiting patiently -

Seems a welcome addition. Thanks for the continued support.

I'd suggest changing the "Max" column to "TOE" to reduce the number of times you have to answer "How can I have more planes than the max"

"Planes" could be changed to "Active Planes" (and the existing "Active" changed to "Active Pilots"). Although if you have a thing against two line column headers, most folk will figure it out. (although a little legend on the bottom might help some folks).

About the support I asked michaelm about and he told me this:
***
My original understanding was that these 'support' type devices would work in COMBAT mode, but the only comment in the code is that the Engineers need to be COMBAT to work at the base.
I know aviation support doesn't use MODE, because I was told to remove that check during dev. But MODE probably has some sort of affect on the USE of these 'support' devices during the turn.
***
So you can change how air support is counted.
Btw could you change the name? "Air S (P)" doesn't seem to make sense what is that P for??? Simply "Air (R)" would be enough.

Thanks - I'll double check that mode.

"P" actually means planes but I guess we can change it to R meaning required ... but that seems not as specific as planes either ... or am I wrong?

The "Air S (P)" means Air Support at the base, with the total number of planes at the base in parenthesis. So I think the header is fine.

Well I thought it should be based on what is on the base screen:
Aviation Support
Aviation Support required
But does the tracker count the planes for that number at a base?
If so maybe it could be split and could show the normal aviation support + Float plane support and in brackets the Planes + Float Planes, float planes would be patrol too but as there are patrol planes that can act as both float & normal I'm not sure how the tracker can count this.
Right now I'm not sure if aviation support by ships does also help normal planes, I think not.

I've known for awhile that my tracker pilot losses did not come close to matching the in-game (and more likely) losses. A couple of posts I've seen of others games convinced me that it wasn't just my database.

Is this something that can be corrected in tracker?

Thanks again for your efforts with this great utility.

I've been using Tracker successfully for sometime now, but for some reason after starting a new game (Guadalcanal, US vs AI) Tracker fails to start. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Attached is the bat file dump.

Yeah - we're not looking at the global cumulative numbers here just the pilot array as it stands in the DB. I'll see about putting in the global numbers sometime.

Yep - I see a problem here too ... It was working so I'm not sure what has changed I'll have to investigate further

Oh - I should have said - let me know if you want me to email you a save game for a sample. It's PBM so I can only give you my password, but I could give you my partner's name and you could ask him for his.

No need in this case as it fails on my test save too. It's probably the *.dll changing and we'll need Micheal's help to rectify the problem. Beta's can be a hassle to deal with and maybe we'll have to wait until it's an official update - if fixing this means that previous versions of AE can't use Tracker too.

If so you could just issue a new version of the DLL to use only if you have the new format. Consider too that many players stay on older official versions out of an abundance of caution.

PS: I am experiencing Tracker withdrawal after just one turn!

Actually - not saying this is going to work all the time; but can you take the new pwsdll.dll from the beta and put it in the tracker folder. Restart Tracker and see if it will load a turn for me. I got one error on initial load due to the combat report; but then ran again and it was ok ...

More testing needed

Sort of success - it read OK. But, Alerts reports an "Ace in a Day" whereas in-game reported plane losses do not support that report. AFAIK the change was to the pilot array, so maybe the gap of not having read in the previous turn (I should have tried that first, but didn't think of it in time) confused it. I'll let you know what I see going forward.

The new DLL should support older saves (ie pre-m4) as the only change was to add a new parameter to the save list. None of the tables have been changed, so a new Tracker should not be required.
The DLL in the tracker install directory does need to be copied over in order to read the new saves.

Based on Michael's post, perhaps people using the latest beta should replace the DLL for WitPTracker with the latest and see if that works. It may not line up perfectly with pilots, but it should run (or you can restart the database with the new DLL and see if that works better).

And yes, working with the beta does pose issues....

I can't get tracker to work with the m4 beta. I get a side-by-side error using the m4 beta exe and DLL. But when I use the m3 beta with its DLL tracker works fine. On the tracker web site, you state that side-by-side errors are usually caused by C++ install errors. Is this the only cause?

I thought it was the case; So I guess you are putting the pwsdll.dll in the Tracker folder too ? And it is failing. That doesn't really make sense to me - that it is working with one and not the other.

What OS? C++ redistributable?
