My apologies if I missed the answer to this question in the manual (I really have read it :) ) but does anyone know if there is any way to replay the turn movie if you are playing the computer (or playing hot seat)?

Sure, as long as you haven't already run the next turn, just save your game and load saved game 001, which is labeled Combat Replay. That will show the last replay movie run in UV.

When playing PBEM, remember that the Japanese player needs to send both the replay file (save 001) and the normal save back to the Allied player after Turn 1.

Regards,

- Erik

Erik,
Thanks for the reply. However, when I try the above it doesn't seem to work. If I go to load game screen, I see the file 001 without a label, and when I sleect it, I am kicked back to the main menue screen which is now missing all the buttons:eek: (and the replay doesn't run)

When I choose the save game button from within the game, the 001 slot is identified as a replay file. However, there does not seem to be anyway for me to load it. I am running Windows XP on a Pentium 4 computer. Any diea what is going on (or what I may be doing wrong?)

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

Sorry for missing this, since the last few days leading up to 1.10, I just haven't been able to be as thorough on the forums. Please zip up and send me the replay file in question to erikr@matrixgames.com. It should be labeled "Combat Replay" and should work fine.

Regards,

- Erik

Erik,

Same thing happens when I try this. Are you SURE you can replay solo games?

Also, there is no save001.dat file in the save folder. Does something have to be toggled to get the game to save the combat replay?

Thanks,
mjk428

Erik,

I realize you are probably tied up on other matters, but I just wanted to make sure you were not waiting for me to send you a file before responding.

As mjk428 noted there doesn't appear to be any save001.dat file in the save folder, so there isn't anything for me to send. Again, if you are tied up on other matters, I understand, this is admitedly a relatively minor issue in the scheme of things. Regardless, I certainly appreciate the very high level of support and response ya'll are providing to your customers.

Regards,
Kevin

Took me a day or two to get to this part of my lists, but I did get a chance to finally test this out. In any case, you're right. :)

I sometimes get confused with all the various versions and play modes, but it appears there is no single player replay file stored. I can't promise, but we'll see if we can do something about that in a future patch, since I agree it would be nice to have available. Sorry for the confusion.

Regards,

- Erik

OK, well that answers that. I think the ability to replay the turn movie would be a handy feature, not only to review something you may have missed, but also to help one get back into the game when it has been a few days since last playing a turn.

One other question, is there anyway to pause the replay?

Thanks again for your help Erik.

The only way to pause is to not clear off one of the combat report screens. The starting screen on the next turn will essentially give you the situation at the end of the replay.

It also occurs to me that while you don't have a stored single player replay file, there is a combatreport.txt file in your UV directory that will have all the text combat results from the last turn you played.

Regards,

- Erik
