In an AI campaign I ordered an Australian Recon unit to move from Conclurry to Tenant Creek. It seems to be moving through the wilderness to the South of the minor road/trail between the two places. It's doing it fairly rapidly so maybe its no problem at all. Don't have a save of all its previous locations but do have one with the unit located "in the wilderness" (off the road). Can send if needed.

That has happened to me several times. I guess they dont like the road, but as you say, they dont seem to lose much time taking the scenic route.
