In order for that factory to repair the damaged (new) engines, you need at least 10, supply in the hex. One damaged factory will repair for a cost of 1000 supply per day. So, 20k supply will repair 10 factories in 10 days. Keep the supply flowing there to keep repairs going.

Status: offline 		   Another newbie question: what happens if you accelerate a plane and it arrives before the engine it uses (can happen with George, for example)? Does researching engines follow the similar procedure of acceleration?

I'm not sure you can research engines. The factories just turn on at a specific time. If the R&D of an airframe begins before the engine comes online, you're out of luck, I suspect.

That's a valid tactic. I regularly turn my airframe and engine factories on and off depending on the situation. I'll set a maximum and minimum pool level for each plane type, depending on type of plane, number of slots available and how many more reinforcements are coming, as well as when that plane will be upgraded to a newer model. That maximum and minimum may change. The goal is to run out of those planes as the new model takes over. Eventually, you won't have to build any more because you'll replenish the pool as you upgrade air units.

Yup. After those factories are repaired, they'll only be damaged by Allied bombing. Otherwise, they'll be good to go and won't need any additional supply. They'll only suck HI out of the pool to build airframes or engines.

No can't convert from one type to another. Only Naval and Merchant Shipyards are allowed conversion.

Status: offline 		No real advantage in my book, cause as soon as you convert they need to be fully repaired again. This is unfortunate and should be changed imo, cause there is no way you need to rebuild a ship yard from scratch again. I'll also just diverge for a sec, and say it is a pity that repairs(incl conversions) & new construction are not handled differently.

I forgot to say before you can convert Arm and Veh factories too .. but the same applies. I think that converting is a bit silly, I'd rather use the supplies to expand an existing facility and still have the potential capacity of the other, even if turn it off.

Yup, I've had engines advanced to be available earlier. (Nothing deliberate I did, you start with some large fully repaired factories)

They have no fuel. You refuel them.

How do you know how many points you have and what you spent when you start accelerating your production, ie reinforcements? I noticed that there is no way to accelerate you ground forces coming. Am I right?

It helps to read the manual from time to time. :-))

I am real good at that. Brad and I had a CHS game end in Aug 1944 when most of our good pilots were abducted by aliens, as Brad says. At the time, my HI pool was around 900 IIRC. Made it a tad hard to upgrade airframes or do anything else with the economy.

There is only one factory there for the HA60 engine which is used for the Judy planes which is not available till 10/42 unless of course you do lots of research, lol.

Also, how do you find out the specs on a plane that is not ready for production yet? Do you have to wait till it arrives on map in order to see all the specifications on it?
