I still have to get in and make weapon changes, been working more on the "package" and getting it to work

(Forts could carry 8 Mandrel and 1 Jostle, which, since we do not have the deacated AA radar in the game (more coded sided then data) I have 2 Mandrel and 1 Jostle in my test bed Fort)

Sounds like you're on the case Sarge. Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to seeing all the odd electronic warfare aircraft in the game.

hmmm

interesting, and may be where I picked up some of the ideas from

192, flew 3 different types of planes, the Wimpy, the Hally and the Mossy, they used the Hally and Mossy for deep raids, and the Wimpy flew mainly up and down the coast line

Though I’d scan and post a couple of images related to this thread. First is a chart from Brettingham’s book showing just how complex was the range of activities undertaken by 100 Group, and the wide variety of squadrons taking part and aircraft flown. Note that there are American squadrons in the Group as well.




Second is a side view of a 462 Squadron Halifax. The three long masts, two on top and one below the nose, are for the ABC jamming equipment used against German VHF R/T night fighter control. Just visible on the bottom of the fuselage by the propellers are three semi-spherical perspex covers for rotating aerials. These were fitted to the port bomb bay door. The standard box-like window chute is just in front of them but the larger angular chute used by specialist window droppers like this aircraft is behind the H2S dome under the rear fuselage. The small rod aerial behind that is for Carpet jammer, which targeted enemy GCI radars, and the Monica warning radar aerial is visible just below the tail turret. Two whip aerials for Piperack can be seen on the wingtip, which jammed the SN-2 airborne radar.



The photos accompanying the profile show additional aerials on the bomb bay doors and a long range fuel tank in the bomb bay (though they often carried bombs instead). This particular aircraft retained its daylight tactical markings which had been applied when 462 Squadron was operating with No 4 Group. Picture and info from K.A.
