Recently Erik made a statement that the developers from KOIOS are now gone. So, what is the status of the Panzer Command series foward? Is it over? Did you get the future production rights? Is there even going to be a Western Europe model now? Is the final patch even going to be released for Panzer Command:Kharkov now? So what happened and why?

I guess this is how rumors get started.

Koios is indeed out of business. However, I stated at the same time that we have a new developer on board to complete this mega community update for Panzer Command Kharkov as well as continue the development of the series into the next release. I hope that addresses your concerns.

Regards,

- Erik

Well not all of them...who's the new developer? What are his/her credentials? What game(s) has he/she produced before? How much experience? How can you assure us that he/she will do as well if not better than KOIOS? You know stuff like that?

Just so I understand - where and when was this "stated at the time"? I haven been exactly been going through the PzC forum on a regular since it's been somewhat stagnant. I thought the series was essentially dead and buried and the vagueness of your respose, Eric, doesn't exactly generate the warm and fuzziness expectant of a revived game. I was hoping not to put up with the crap like DRM, paid for patches, and asinine excuses and treatment of customers from the publisher of the main contender any longer. Am I just getting old and bitter, or is the fare for WW2 game fanatics like me just going the way of the sauropod?

It's in the PzC:Kharkov forum in the thread about when the patch is going to come out I believe from memory. I didn't know about it until Erik posted something in that thread. So it was a shock to me as well. Now I can't even get any answers on who took over the program and their credentials and stuff like that. KOIOS developers are the ones who made the series famous how do we know this new person or persons are going to be the same?

I didn't know they needed your permission ?

but overall, I am happy with there choice

but since it looks like they don't want to talk about it yet, you'll just have to wait until they do (you should of asked, when they got your permission to make the change over)

No disrespect intended, killroy, but asking Erik to assure you of anything is not very realistic. If it makes you feel any better, I'll assure you.

But seriously, as a customer, all you can do is choose to purchase the next game in the series from the new developer, or not. I do understand (and share)your curiosity, though.

Well I don't understand why I can't ask? Hell it was just a question. My goodness has the world become so anti social one can't even ask a prefectly good curioisty question anymore? I know Erik doesn't have to answer, but, well other publishers and developers answer questions about things concerning their games why can't he? Is he scared? Maybe I've hit on something? Yeah that's it I've hit a sweet spot in something he doesn't want us to know?? hehe Plus you know what he's always assuring us that this game is great and that game is great and we should buy every ACW game because they are all great, so, what's the deal with the Panzer Command series? Is he afraid to get behind it and assure us it will continue to be the great game that it already is?

Hi guys,

The Panzer Command series is very much alive. Koios works going their separate ways meant a delay between Kharkov and the planned next release, but the series is continuing. The new developer is experienced and very well respected around here, we'll announce more info regarding the next release when we are a bit further along, but it is in good hands.

Regards,

- Erik
