If i set an air group to escort but put their CAP on 100 will they escort if a bomber group goes out or will they only fly cap? Same question different version if i fly 50 cap and put group on escort, half the planes would stay at home and the other half would fly escort if bombing run was in range etc..

mission Escort and setting CAP - 100% means 100% of the aircraft will fly CAP.
mission Escort and setting CAP - 50% means 50% of the aircraft will fly CAP and the remaining will fly escort mission.

EDIT: ehm, there is difference between remaining flying CAP and reminder flying CAP :) I wonder how are the reminders effective in that kind of mission
EDIT2: ehm, not enough mines to fly remining missions

BTW, I've been wondering that do you always need to put the target hex for the escorts to the same hex as the bombers, or can the escorts fly without a specific hex accompinyng the bombers anyway? Also, do you need to put LRCap% on bomber escort missions, or is it only for patrolling a hex or a TF?

" and the remining will fly escort mission"

I don't receive enough mines in AE to run "remining" missions....

It is only for patrolling.

Both works.

If you set a target hex for the escorts they will only fly escort missions for bombers that attack that specific hex.

If you don´t, then there a dice role for how many fighters fly escorts to which hex (assuming you want to bomb more than one hex)depending on target,
assumed CAP over target, range to target and a couple of others.

To increase chances that one certain attack receives the most escorts set the fighters to the same alt as the attacking bomber squads.

Many dice rolls involved there...
