Enjoy....

P.S. From prior posts, I know that Terminus and I share a mutual admiration for Ingrid Bergman. Truly, though, is there any red-blooded male that wouldn't admire this classy, beautiful, and elegant actress? And how do our "modern" starletts and artists compare? Britney Spears, Pamela Lee Anderson, Jamie Presley, Paris Hilton, or Lindsay Lohan anybody?

How would they compare? Well you did name a crew that hasn't aged well. By aged I mean 'late 20's'!

The "modern" starlets list makes me shudder. And not in a good way.

Ingrid Bergman and her ilk are nice wife material. Beautiful, refined, gentle, kind, intelligent, well-spoken, etc. etc. Someone like that would be easy to bring home to meet the folks.

Where they fail to compare is on the salacious / raunch side. Tight fitting leather clothes, aggressive sexuality, etc.

Not to say that there's anything wrong with the latter-it certainly has its place. But it's like comparing apples to oranges. Almost like they're two separate genders, idn't it?

Oh, by the way, you forgot Jessica Simpson. I still can't get her 'Daisy Duke' role in Dukes of Hazard (the movie) out of my mind. Such bad acting. Such vacuous dialogue. But the legs...good God the legs.....must avert eyes....

As beautiful as Ingrid Bergman is, and lordy she is a fine looking woman, Audry Hepburn holds her own.

The problem is you're comparing apples to oranges.

Ingrid Bergman was a beautiful, talented (3 Oscars, 2 Emmys) actress.

The women you're comparing her to, while all are beautiful, are sadly lacking in talent.
Two have no talent at all (Anderson, Hilton); one has questionable talent (Spears=lip sync); one has traded talent for celebrity (Lohan).
The exception is Jaime Pressly, who is both beautiful and talented (I love My Name is Earl!).

My suggestions for beautiful and talented actress to compare to Ingrid Bergman:
Hilary Swank, Reese Witherspoon, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, and Keira Knightly.
And Kate Beckinsale (while I question her talent due to her involvement in a certain movie allegedly based on events taking place at a major USN naval base in the Hawaiian Islands in December 1939, she is, without a doubt, beautiful).

Good points, ckammp. However, even those much classier and undeniably beautiful (except for Knightly, who looks sorta like a barracuda to me) actresses can't match Bergman. Granted, Anne Hathaway can hold her own....

What is this naval base people speak of? The name eludes me for some reason.......

Terminus's dream girl.....

Me thinks it is the secret weapon of Japanese Army. I would wonder that she would scare the hell out of allied troops.
Would make the Allied High Command think twice about about invading the HI. Just imagine what the ugly ones look like.

Where's the ref?  Somebody please signal a penalty:  Illegal Hijacking of a Beautiful Actress Thread!  Miller is penalized 1,500 political points and has to have a love child with the harlot...I mean starlet...of his choice.  He can pick one of the following:  (a) Madonna; (b) Lady Gaga; or (c) Jessica Simpson.

Appearantly, a singer who lacks both the looks and the (questionable) talent of Britney Spears.

This, of course, makes her inexplicably popular.
