Let me begin by saying this is one Hell of good game! Well done to all who worked on this project and the Patches.

Now I think I have found a problem with the second patch ver 1.00.95.

The problem is with the player defined upgrades switch. I have a game against the AI started under patch one and all was well I could click on the aircraft upgrade button and pick from a selection of types of aircraft I could upgrade too.

However after upgrading to patch two clicking on aircraft upgrade only allows access to the default aircraft. I therefore recheck the settings and the player defined upgrades switch is still on. I checked witha few more squadrons only to find the same error. I then reset the PDU (player defined upgrades) to off and no change. I reset it to on again and it had no effect whatsoever.

As a last test I started a new game only to have the same result.

I would welcome any feedback on this issue

Many thanks

MJT

I have no such issue. My player defined upgrades works as expected.

Are you clicking on the arrow to the left of the plane upgrade option, or are you clicking on the words (e.g. No Upgrades). I have found that clicking on the arrow will just pick one of the available upgrades (the preferred / PDU off option?), while clicking on the word would bring up the old screen listing the available choices.

I have the same problem. You can only upgrade to the next upgrade or to the same aircraft already in service with that squadron. You can no longer "retro-grade" , or down grade a squadron. For instance , I have a low experince stateside squadron with p-38's , and lots of p-26's,p-36's and various p-40's available. I cannot use the older planes while the squadron sits at home and builds up experince. This is only since the latest patch. And in many cases , the selection of PDU on or off gives the same result. Is this just me? Do I need a complete re-install? Or is this working as the designers intended?

I just relized that I have the same problem,  this is a huge problem.

When you upgrade 1 Air group then it works fine, then when I attempt to upgrade another air group after that then it can ONLY upgrade to itself !!

I tested this on 2 separate AE Installs on 2 separate computers, using 2 separate saves from 2 separate games.

ONLY the first time, the 2nd time you try it you will find that it dosn't work any more.

(Upgrading ANY squadron seems to "trigger it" (upgrading 1 squadron works) BUT after the first upgrade you can not do any more upgrades)

Works for me, right click on the text to open up the list of possible upgrades.

I have no problem with PDU. But I always used the text click rather than the left click on the arrow. The arrow only allow you to select the predefined upgrade. The text book opens up all possiblities.

Ok gents I've tryed left clicking and right clicking on the arrow and on the text with no result.
The only other think I can think of is that I am using Windows 7 (64 bit) RC. Is anyone else having this problem?
I think I will try my laptop with xp home and see what results that gives me.

Post a save in the Tech area and indicate which groups you are having trouble with.

There may be something going on with the GUI recognizing mouse clicks in patch 2. It is not a consistent problem, but sometimes I have to "end turn" two, three - once even five times before it actually took. Since it isn't consistent I've been thinking that my finger is wavering as I release the mouse button but your comment here makes me wonder.

I think some of the mouse clicks work differently now. Could be the Gooey thingy.

Often, when I click on a base the map centres on the base, I have to click on the base again to open it.   No biggy.

For PDU, you click on the words to the right of the arrow.
