It would be great to have all this new data in excel. Has anyone merged all the CVS files into an excel spread sheet for the ships?

Get WitP Tracker (see sticky threads above). It will do that and much, much more!

Witploadae.exe in the SCEN folder will do it as well. You need to open a dos prompt. Here is the help that JuanG gave me a long while back.

Witploadae.exe requires additional commands to get it to do what you want.

The key ones are
/e is extract scenario -> csv (without this it is packaging from csv -> scenario)
/s## is scenario ID

As you are just typing witploadae.exe, it is assuming to be packaging scenario 1, which is why you get that error as there is no scenario 1 csv files.

So if you wanted to extract scenario 2 into csv, you would write witploadae.exe /e /s02

CSV files should open fine in excel, and unlike some other games, AEs csv files are well formatted and should read and save perfectly from excel.

Hope this helps, as its a very useful and powerful tool to use.

I have followed all the instructions to the "T" (if you will excuse the expression), and I get a data dump, but, it is always Scenario 1 data, regardless of what "s" file I designate. I am running an old Excel 97 version.

I found this thread with its recent activity in trying to figure out what the hell I am doing wrong.

Hi Buck,

Here's exactly what I type to do a data dump, and a data import:

Open a DOS prompt by: clicking 'start', then run. On the 'run' prompt, I type cmd then click ok.

At the dos prompt, I type: CD C:\Games\WITP AE\SCEN (that's where I have it saved on my computer.)

Now, I type: WITPLOADAE.exe /e /s198 (Long ago, I opened Scenario 1 in the editor and saved it as scenario 198.)

That gives me CSV files that I can open in Excel and modify to my hearts extent.

To import, I go back to the DOS prompt and type: WITPLOADAE.exe /i /s198

this produces files that are saved in a different location and need to be copied back to the SCEN folder.
My location is C:\Matrix Games\War in the pacific admiral's edition\scen
I go there, highlight all the files, right click and choose copy, then go to my SCEN folder above and paste.

That's about all the help I can give. the spaces above are important, and it's case sensitive, I think.

Good luck, and Merry Christmas Eve.

Thank's Bradley I have a tool "Open Command Prompt" in my Data Management program "Power Desk 7" that takes me to the Dos when I open it. C:/Matrix/WITPAE/SCEN. It is here it type Witploadae.exc/e/s111 (my saved file of DaBabes mod).

Maybe I am trying to do more than what I can. Here is basically what I am trying to accomplish. I had previously modify a scenario with a hundred or so entries (one by one using the Editor). I am trying to salvage my work by opening up that scenairo (saved to s110) and dumping it into the SCEN folder. I then want to swapped the info from one excel worksheet to another. However, when I dump it doesn't dump the info for the S110, it dumps it is the Scenario 1 data. As a matter of fact even when I try to dump the scen 26 Da Babes, it captures Scen 1 data. I will look to see if I am added or subtracting spaces.

Thank's again for your help.

Hi Buck,

You need spaces before the /

ex:

Witploadae.exe /e /s111
