Some folks I PBEM with are having problems connecting. I THINK it might be a DNS problem, however it seems to be effecting folks sporadically all over, and particularly in Germany so I am told.

If anyone at Matrix is monitoring this you might want to make sure its nothing on your side.

If you know anyone having problems you might could let them know they can use

http://64.111.28.20/

to connect for the moment, this should bypass any DNS errors, for subpages if you put that number in the URL your going to instead of www.matrixgames.com you should be okay.

Last night, or early am, there was an error, thought the site had been hacked, directing folks to a domain name site... very odd!

Yep, me too this morning (that's six hours ahead of you guys). No Matrixsite to be found, only the site of an provider of some sorts? Didn't look like a hack though.

This has been happeneing to me sporadically this morning. In fact, I have two computers I use. And I've had one direct me to a Domain Name Registration site, while the other connects to the forums fine at the same time. The mysteries of DNS routing.

Right now they both seem to be connecting to the forum, though I'm still having difficulty getting to the ftp servers.

Did anyone get this page while they were trying to connect to Matrix forums today? I'm wondering if the site got hacked or something.

Just curious what happened.

It was a DNS issue which we became aware of late this morning and which took a couple of hours to fix. Should be entirely resolved now, apologies for the confusion.

06Maestro is still not able to get in. He is emailing me about this. He has used Chrome and IE8 and both are a no go. He also tried the http://64.111.28.20/ and he gets a message that says it is an unsafe site.

Any advice for him that I can convey?

Alright! Get out the credit card! This is the closest thing to a heart attack I have ever had. A real life emergency.

I was out again, now I'm back in-hopefully it is done.

The bogus game site that omes up has some interesting adds at the bottom. Seems they have contact with domain sellers-how interesting.

The problem still exists when trying to make a New Topic. It takes me to that site it was going to all the time earlier. Jumping into already existing topics there's no issues only when trying to make a new one.

I didn't start a new topic, but the problem re-appeared after I visited the Wargamer site. Had to kill my internet connection and log back in to be rid of it.

When I forgot to pay my Domain bill I got the same screen :)

When I first saw it I just prayed that my beloved Matrix website would be back in all its glory.

You can also try at a command prompt:

ipconfig /flushdns

That may help make sure you are getting the correct DNS information.

Regarding the above - I was asked to post this:

Can you please post for me that if I do a traceroute for www.matrixgames.com
I end up with an ip of 209.62.105.19 (which is theplanet.com). If I do a
traceroute for 64.111.28.20 I get to matrixgames.com. My ISP said it may be
some problem with their DNS names or something.

Testing, testing 1,2,3,.

Aaaah, I got my fix. Although I was able to sporadically log in today, I could not post. Hitting any button took me to that parallel universe website.

The IP config thing worked. Thanks to Larry P for sending it to me.
