I've had technical issues with crashes with the game, but I did notice the AI (as far as AI goes) isn't bad. I quite like it.

The AI is very good at protecting its cities, falling back to rivers and other defendable lines. I've seen the AI abandon untenable situations when I made moves to surround large AI formations.

The AI punishes any deep operations against it, quickly surrounding flanking armored or motorized units. As Germany my invasion into France didn't go as quick as I like because the AI was smart enough to try and stall/isolate/eliminate any deep operations on my part. Later, while invading the USSR the AI was even more aggressive in its counters to deep operations.

On the attack the AI isn't as good, often sending in units piecemail or not using all of its resources. The AI has paratroopers it could attempt to place behind my defensive lines, or it might attempt to strike at my defensive lines with more than just one armored corps and a bunch of weak divisions that can't do much.

As Germany, I allied with Persia and took personal control of the country. The Russians showed up, which was to be expected, but a surprise was the quick invasion of the USA by sea. The AI was smart enough to know an easy target when it saw one! On the other hand it is making no moves on the virtually undefended German-occupied British Isles.

In terms of sea power, the AI has no idea what to do about my airpower which punishes Allied/Commintern seapower with little risk and high reward. On the other hand when it does it to me, I run away.

The dynamics of the game are also quite fun. As Germany I had a relatively easy time taking Western Europe and thanks to air-power, clearing the way for the occupation of Britain. My invasion of the USSR was not prepared for the endless resources that nation has to throw at you. I was surprised to find the AI hurling army after army in nearly every sector at me. Funny enough, just outside Moscow I was praying for winter to hurry up and thus slow down the AI's movement so I could get time to throw up a line. Well done AI!
