A flotilla of PT boats arrive after daybreak and scare off a large amphbious taffy. JJ has bombers both at Ambon and at Sorong (Sallys and Helens). They attack the ground units there and we attack theirs with B-17's and B-25's. The LYB's do not attack on the ground....yet. PH: JJ raids PH again at night to try to stop our AK's from unloading. Night Time Surface Combat, near Port Hedland at 57,129, Range 1,000 Yards Japanese Ships PB Keiko Maru, Shell hits 19, Torpedo hits 1, and is sunk Allied Ships PT-66 PT-67 PT-68 PT-74 PT-76 PT-77 Then the cruisers show up and chase off our PT boats. The Allied DD force that was on station has gone back for torps and ammo after the fight the night before. Evidently the cruisers turned aroudn as well. Moderately effective Allied ground attacks at PH. JJ does not attack on the ground. Supply is improved and the Allied grounds units are slowly recovering.
