I had to share a room (budget constraints) with Mayor Villaraigosa. Hory crap! You would not believe how long that guy spends on his hair. Annoying really.

In the end, I felt sorry for the poor bastard after that embarrassing floor vote disaster. He took it hard. I had to go downstairs and get him an old Marty Robins CD and a bottle of Patron.

He knew his career was shot. Bastard musta listened to El Paso 15 times straight. Not much left of the Patron, either.


When I came back upstairs he had his face in the waste bin.


Me: That is some serious bottle fatigue there, amigo!

Antonio: baaaaaahhhhh! Felina. Felina. Whirl Felina.

I got an email from somebody called Endpoint Encryption Support.



I'm not exactly sure what that is but I suspect it is why it takes 10 seonds between mouse clicks now. We are going to a McAfee encryption system. We used to use the one the CIA uses but it didn't meet new federal guidelines.

Status: offline 		Good news. Yorktown only has 20% flotation damage. Maybe she can be ready for Sumatra.

Two fast BB's have left Los Angeles after repairs and are bound for the Sundas.

Washington will support a landing at Sorong with one USMC Regt and a Bn of tanks. This may not be enough for Sorong but it should be enough to defeat a counterattack from the garrison. A Bn of combat engineers is also headed there from Sydney. The CVE's will also support the landing at Sorong, but It is dangerous for the CVE's to go too far North without the CV's, lest Jap carriers show up.

I will have to work something else out to get troops ashore on Sulawese. Perhaps LRCAP from Ternate and landing craft only.

All the B-24's are going after Koepang today. P-38's will sweep from Bathurst. I am getting tired of the damn Tojos there. I wonder if they are flying in from Waingapu?

Repulse and Pow headed to Sydney as are the CV's. Aus 6, 7th Div and Br 18th all on their way aroudn Oz

Recon B-24's at Saumalaki are reaching out all over the area. Palau was reconned yesterday (25 fighters). Another 25 fighters in Southern Borneo

Status: offline 		Stalker Girl dragged to me to a pot luck last night thrown by one of her team that is doing an electronic record "build" for her hospital. The team is almost all nursing directors. I was assured there would be guys there too. There weren't. They only guy there was the husband of the hostess and he had the sense to hide in his garage working on his cars.

Santa Maria! That was truly painful. There is something about the personality of nursing directors that drives me nuts. I'm not quite sure what it is. I try to keep an open mind but it just doesn't work. There is the not uncommon bull dyke who hates men, of course, but the the butchest one there last night was the least annoying. I think part of it is the undercurrent of resentment toward doctors. One can only take so much incoming fire before responding. Many times I have had to stop myself from saying, "Look, I didn't TELL you to go into nursing, did I?"

It's not just that women annoy me either, because I enjoy talking to female docs. I suppose a seriously attractive nursing director would soften things a bit, but do to their senority, if they ever were, they aren't any more. Oh, wait, I suppose that sounded sexist didn't it? Oh well, too late.

It just occurred to me that scrupulous rule-following and endless protocols is a universal feature of nursing directors. I suppose the same reason why I could never bring myself to read the AE rules is why I can't stand 99% of "them". It also occurs to me the author of MASH got it EXACTLY right.

Status: offline 		I took so much psychic energy out of me, I got home at 8:40, picked up Neptune's Inferno right where USS Laffey emerges from fog or smoke in the 3rd Naval battle of Guadalacanal and finds herself on a collision course with Hiei, bearing down on her 1200 from yds away. They manually fire their torps and open up with even the 20 mm. Wounding the Japanese TF commander and ships' captain, they ring up flank speed, making 40 kts, starting to pull away to safety.....intensely exciting action, well written....and then I couldn't keep my eyes open. I had used up all my neurotramsmitters trying not to make a politically disastrous utterance.

In nursing school I studied all the major nurse theorist .. all of meta-theorist beat the actuary tables If you want to live a long time .. be a nusing theorist .. it seems your observations are that nursing directors comes in a close second ....

The undercurrent in burned out nursing mantra is not only Doctors, but I would contend providers .... I get a lot of stuff from what is supposed to be allies on the same side sharing the same philosophy, but actually I get much more gumpf from nurses ...

There is hope out there Cap ... I am finding working with IPE-CP teams lots more diversity in thinking, and attractiveness
