This has been the most humid August/Sept in Southern California I can remember. It rained about 2 inches in 20 minutes yesterday. It feels like...ummmm...Guadalcanal?

Air losses. 2 P-38's and 1 B-24 lost in the raids over Koepang..but quite a payoff.

Quite a few Tojos lost over Burma..but the LYB's did down 3 Wellys and 3 export Dutch A-20's

Just noticed the 25 Bettys lost. Did not see that on the combat.txt. Must be a sync problem. I might even watch the combat replay. Seeing 25 Bettys shot down is worth 10 minutes of time I dont have.

Just looking at SG's supply requisition list for Castleville. It sounds fun. It seems to heavily emphasize logistics just like AE.

Some place called Tower of Gloom needs a mortar..or maybe just "mortar". Some place called Anouria needs 4 Ball & Chains. It is probably a naval base and they use them to demast opposing ships.

I might give it a try. Anyone want to take over SOUPAC?

The Sundas, Bob and Betty. A nice couple but Betty can be a bit inappropriate when she is drinking.

Very quiet turn. B-24 raid over Koepang breaks some more Tonys.

Allied raid over Paoshan. 14th Brig has disappeared.

I like to think its pretty much a given she has the french maid outfit; the critical questions are -

1) will she be modeling it at this year's all hallows festivities?
2) what is the video stream going to cost me to this years event? (you really should sell chances for an official invite - to offset forum related expenses of course)
3) can it appear on my billing statement as AAA Towing?

************Admiral's Daily Briefing, FOB Papaete, Feb. 5, 1943*********

Fleet Admiral Mandrake walks into room, surprising everyone. They quickly put down their Bloody Mary's and assume a business-like posture.

Moana: Admiral, we weren't expecting you.

Fleet Admiral Mandrake: Well, it's MY damn briefing, isn't it?

Lucha: Sure boss, it's just that..well you know.

Fleet Admiral Mandrake: You think the Japs are going to give you a warning?

Moana: In Tahiti, sir? You really think they mean to attack here? Isn't that why we have the HQ's here?

Fleet Admiral Mandrake: No, it's to be able to move North or West quickly if we are needed. Also, the girls are cuter than the ones on Tanna.

Lucha: Beasts is what I hear.

Fleet Admiral Mandrake: Yeah, that's what I heard too. Well, shall we start?

Moana: Yes, sir. <opens notes> There were several USN submarine attacks in the Sundas....

Fleet Admiral Mandrake: No, no, NO! Not that! Let the staff handle that. I want to talk about a nightmare I had. I dreamt I was attacked by a midget nurse. Nasty little bitch with fangs and a starched white uniform too. <shudders>

Moana: That must have been very frightenting, sir?

Fleet Admiral Mandrake: Nearly scared the living crap out of me, but I'm over it. What I want to know is what does it mean?

Moana: Mean, sir?

Fleet Admiral Mandrake: yeah. "Mean"....for operations and **** like that.

New Scotland: Remember that place? Half the ship and plane losses for the entire war occurred in the waters off New Scotland and now it is a backwater. Go figure. Allied air forces on New Scotland consist of some oil-leaking P-40B's and a squadron of SBD's

Ground combat at Noumea (115,160)

Allied Deliberate attack

Attacking force 7674 troops, 133 guns, 61 vehicles, Assault Value = 297

Defending force 1685 troops, 12 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 59

Allied adjusted assault: 260

Japanese adjusted defense: 82

Allied assault odds: 3 to 1 (fort level 3)

My neighbor 2 doors up the street hired a personal trainer. I don't fault him for that but he has narrow street frontage so the guy parks in front of my house and puts a big sign by his car that reads "Fitcore Gym on Wheels".

What if someone thinks I need a trainer?

He is quite a big guy. 350 at least. Buys or leases a new BMW 7 series every year. I think he is having a midlife crisis because he just got a new all black 640i with smoked windows and black wheels. Very nice machine but I bet he makes a grunting sound when he gets in.

One time I was out gardening and a bobacat ran down his driveway. He ran after the poor thing with an axe screaming, "MOUNTAIN LION! MOUNTAIN LION"

Big Neighbor: Did yu see that? A mountain lion?

Me: Yeah, thaks for keeping the neighborhood safe.
