Somewhere near the Philadelphia shipyards the USS Eldridge reappears.... and the original crew of the SS Andrew Furuseth is hustled off to 'special duty'.

Congrats; the experiments are about 6 months ahead of schedule. (The internet says it Science Fact!!!)

Beazelbob: JJ has 60+ fighters at Davao and 40 over Manado so instead of attacking where we need to attack, we attack somewhere else just to annoy them. At least we found a sub. Jap carriers will have suffered at least 14 Zeroes, 5 Kates and 3 Vals lost, probably more. Not worth loss of Denver but at least they did not get the BB's nor inflict any grievous losses to embarked troops. I predict they don't go away.

There were SBD's at San Jose..which is...wait for it...level 1 and therefore they will not conduct bombing raids. Even worse, half the F4F's were on escort to escort the bombers. Time for "quick battlefield relief" of some staff, eh?

My guess is the Jap carriers will be North of Palawan somewhere, at least 8 hexes from Jolo, which does represent a serious threat to them. If they spot the BB's retreating from Jolo, they may try to send in a night bombardment toward Jolo. A Jap CA led force could be trouble. Probably time to get out all the transports from Cotabato and Jolo, probably SE toward Sangi.

Cagayan, if it has supply, can support some B-25's and Beauforts, making thing more dicey for LYB carriers.

It occurs to me that some may consider the notion of capturing a base and seeing if it has suppries somewhat amateurish.

Here is how I would answer that.

Nope...watched replay. Carriers 80 mi N Busuanga/120 WSW Manila....conviently out of SBD and TBF range from Cotabato/Jolo/Cagayan They can approach from the North most easily without detection.

Upon watching the replay I judge it likely the two BB's were spotted off Manado and that JJ knows at least one carrier approaching around "The Horn"

I thought you sank (nearly) all his CAs? How many of his 18 CAs are in your Intel report for sunk ships?

13 CA's, 10 CL's allegedly sunk. Seems to me we had at least one JJ CA damaged in last series of attacks on Jolo.

SG Jr.(IV): <8 year old playing restaurant> OK, I'm Sydney, I'll be your servant today?

FAM (customer): "Servant"? Wow, this is a full service restaurant.

SG Jr.(IV): Yes, full service, what would you like to drink?

FAM (customer): Umm.<trying to watch NFL) iced tea with pashion fruit.

SG Jr.(IV): Ummm..we don't have that. How about a gin and tonic?

FAM (customer): That sounds great <starts looking at AE intel screen..busy sounds in background>

SG Jr.(IV): OK, here you go. <I look up and it is a drink in a martini glass with ice and two olives on a toothpick> We didn't have gin so I had to use this <points to Vodka)

I take a drink, it's 10:30 in the morning and an 8 year old is making me a vodka/tonic with olives..it's damn strong too. Sweet Baby Jesus what have I done?

Well, she would need a step stool so she could see over the bar and you would have to be sure there are no "mandated reporters" at the party so you don't get turned in to CPS.

Also, she probably doesn't know any "chick drinks" so you would have to show her how to make an Appletini

FAM: Wait, you're taking your laptop?

SG: Yeah, it's mine. I have to do the Girl Scout stuff.

FAM: I'll bring it in when I go to work.

SG: No you won't

FAM: Oh, come on. I have a turn in! <suddenly realizes how pitiful this sounds..like an opiate addict trying to get a Demerol shot>

Speaking of Demerol, I got around to reading the consult notes from my colonoscopy and I find out the guy gave me 8mg of Versed and 150 mg of Demerol!!! No wonder I cant remember anything. That is like a charging rhino dose.

I had this dream that I got up during the procedure and stumbled around the hall in my hospital gown until the security guard tazed me. Maybe it really happened?

Wierdest thing is one of the security guards called me by my name next time I went to the hospital. Never happened before. There is probably a cell-phone video floating around U-tube by now.
