You know....you look at those 1070 WJD assault points on Okinawa with rough terrain and, likely, forts and you have to ask yourself how important is a level 8 airfield?

I don't think you've attritted them enough, Cap'n. You will be up against it for a while-so long as JJ stays in suppry. Anxious for you to tell us the first day's attack odds. I say <1:3 and beaucoup disruption awaits.

What can you do for LRCAP of the hex? Were I him, I'd be blasting your landed LCUs with every IJAAF 2EB in range to build their disruption.

Much depends on his early fort building on the island.

Other than the organic engineers in his LCUs (Divisions), I count a BF with a handful of engineers and a single NCB. It depends when he put it there and started building. I'd wager that forts are no higher than 4.

Yeah, I didn't expect them to just shrivel up. Other than the BB bombardments the suppression attacks have all been on the airfield. Time to switch over to ground bombardment.

When we have 3 divisions ashore we don't have to attack right away. They won't be able to drive us off either.
I wanted to get ashore and free up the transports for the large scale landing on Formosa. Once the B-24's start on 48th Div it will start to hurt.

As for LRCAP it was very strong on D-Day but it does wear our squadrons. That is the idea of landing on Kume-jima to build a fighter strip.

'43 standard squads.....ummm....errrr.....uhhhhh...well, I just merged the regiments of 1st Marine and it did seem seem to incorporate new squads but that might have just been division-level AT squads and that kind of thing.

32nd ID has been recovering for a bit with the replacement button on. Would that do it or do you have to pay somebody?

I will have to look when I get home. Also, there weren't enough LST's and APA and AKA's to go around so some of the heavy stuff is still off-shore aboard AK's. As I recall, not one of the 3 divisions has its command element ashore yet.

Yes, just checked, 32nd ID, 1st Marine and 8th Aus still have the RAMF's at sea.

SWPAC (Dugout Doug), 2nd Marine Regt, 2nd Medium Regt (RHA) and two Combat Engineer regiments are well ashore.

Certainly, we still have some significant combat power off-shore...and we have 2 more USMC regiment about 2 d out....and 2 more waiting to embark at Aparri.

Instead of breaking your sword on that target just now, use it to hold their attention while you take everything around it. Build up those bases for fighters and DB to prevent Naha being reinforced and resupplied. Continue airfield bombing with the heavies and mediums and bombard the crap out of it from the sea. That will kill supply and keep the airfield out of business, plus prevent fort building. Put ashore loads of supply, let your troops preparation for the target continue to climb.

Just be certain that you have enough there that they can not be defeated, then use the other troops against the surrounding area.

Damndest thing. My contractor put air in the two flat front tires of the Z and they held air. Essentially, the wheels had been resting on the concrete for years without moving. When we rolled it out the flat part stayed completely flat even when off the pavement. It looked like a cartoon flat tire.

Stalker Girl IV was seriously impressed.

SG IV: Mahk <she can't say "r's" very well > You should fix it up. It would be cool. It might cost a thousand grand.

FAM: Good idea, but a "thousand grand" is a million.

SG IV: OK, a grand then.

Yes, yes! That-ah precisery pran! The two USMC regiments prepping at Aparri could be retained in reserve. I suppose we could also turn around the two embarked regiments coming up from Sorong as well.

Miyako is already 5.7 and will reach level 7 in less than 10 d I predict. We could start night bombing of Kyushu inside 2 weeks even without Naha. Menwhile Okinawa draws forces away from the Kuriles (and maybe aircraft away from Siam).

This sounds good. Especially the bit about suppry.

We already have about 170 undisrupted naval support points ashore and there was almost no fire form the WJD's at the
landing vessels.

Not sure where all the disruption came from. Bad die roll? Thank the Baby Jesus JJ can't compretery know situation.

We need to get the rest ashore, including 6th and 9th USMC Regts, break off one of the BB's to bombard tonight and throw
everything we have in the way of medium and heavies at the ground troops at Naha. The escort ships for the three landing taffys
are out of ammo. We consolidate the three taffys into one, send the escorts back to Batan and Wichita takes over as flagship for the amphibious group.

Medium and heavies holding up at Batan. The B-17's are understrength because 8th Air Force is hogging them.

Personally, is suspect...well...I won't say.

Interestingly, the bombers at Bangkok are gone. Either they are under another peanut shell in Siam or Burma or Indochina.....or.....

Kirishima not spotted. Just 2 DD's at Shnaghai. We will be down to one BB on guard duty at Naha tomorrow.

Turns out all 3 division commanders are ashore. Must have gotten ashore on the first boat after the barrage yesterday.

Sebree, 32nd ID
Vandergrift, 1st Marine
Vasey, 8th Aus

3 glass eaters. Best we have in those uniforms.

Wow..complicated turn. Decided to send 9th Marine Regt to Aparri to reform 3rd Marine Div.

6th Marine Regt and Aus. 1st Army Tank Regt will go to Naha

Mouseover recon at Palau shows DD's and E boats with now transports. Might be a surface strike group.

As a consequence, troopships and transports divert West of Mindanao.

I have been pretty happy with the Consolidated folks. When the B-24D1 line was turned on we were able to convert some old B-17 squadrons.

There aren't enough medium bombers to fill out all the squadrons floating around with A-20's and Hudsons
