That could mean they shipped in loads of AC recently. In case they used AKs the planes still are missing their nuts and bolts and show up as
aux. So could be a lot of fighters too.

Allied air at Nadi. I am surprised the P-40 jockeys are so motivated. If they knew what they were up against........

Don't forget that in about a week, you are going to lose 2/3 of your current Warhawk strength at Nadi (plus elsewhere). Those HQ detachments are due to be withdrawn at the beginning of July.

That's the spirit! Use the Allied carriers to bait some torpedo-bearing patrol planes! What's the worst that could happen with a porous CAP and all?

I've never known them to sink IN BETWEEN turns (except for Akagi..which did do that a couple of times).

Question for Lord Admiral Sprior. Did you watch the combat replay? What happened to the demi-flotilla of PT boats at Suva? Did JJ sink them with recon aircraft?

Mine are. I think the Warspite is the only major combatant the RN has lost so far, although not through lack of trying.

At least she appears to have taken Nagato with her into the deep. Formidable "took up up the chuff" from an I-boat but is now all patched up.

I'm waiting for my turn
My mouse is starting to burn.
Firing up the game.
Feel sick and dirty, and can't stop the pain.
I'm waiting for my turn.

Hey, Mandrake, what you doin' online?
Hey, Mandrake, you cruisin' adult sites?
Oh pardon me Stalker, it's the furthest from my mind
I'm just lookin' for a email from a friend of mine
I'm waiting for my turn

Here it comes, when I'm feeling the worst
And the progress bar is so slow it hurts
It's never early, it's always late
First thing you learn is you always gotta wait
I'm waiting for my turn

Down by Suva, check on my carriers
I know the LYB are coming, but I don't know quite where
He's got the works, gives me a taste
My airfields are wrecked and my B-17s a waste.
I'm waiting for my turn

Stalker says don't you holler, darlin' don't you bawl and shout
New Scotland wasn't that important, you know you're gonna work it on out
New Scotland wasn't that important, I'm feeling oh so fine
Until tomorrow, but that's just some other time
I'm waiting for my turn.

Funny thing is Stalker Girl told me yesterday she brushed on NFL stats so we could have something in common but then I didn't sign up for fantasy football this year and instead waste my time "saving the world". This got me to thinking what a bastard I am. I got over it.

Anyone know where I can find one of those ship identification charts for the IJN? I'm thinking of getting one for her for Christmas.

Why don't you just join a Hare Krishna group? Those guys never seem worried about anything.

On second thought maybe not. Probably this chap got frustrated with the land combat model.

Better go ahead an buy her a new bed, too, cause she will want a separate one after that.

THE TURN BOSS! THE TURN!

It looks like most of the original landing group has moved West. There are no Jap remnants (just intact units indicating debarkation is mostly done) ashore but they appear to be in bad shape.

Either a second landing group or a subset of the first gets hammered by the 150's of 2nd Marine Def. Bn.

A new US Army Regt arrives along with 2nd and 3rd Bn of 102nd Regt. Bombardment of Jap troops ashore is again effective:

Ground combat at Nadi (131,160)

Allied Bombardment attack

Attacking force 10853 troops, 431 guns, 175 vehicles, Assault Value = 811

Defending force 18558 troops, 390 guns, 408 vehicles, Assault Value = 469

Japanese ground losses:
407 casualties reported
Squads: 2 destroyed, 14 disabled
Non Combat: 14 destroyed, 26 disabled
Engineers: 3 destroyed, 4 disabled
Guns lost 9 (2 destroyed, 7 disabled)
Vehicles lost 26 (24 destroyed, 2 disabled)

Allied ground losses:
Vehicles lost 1 (0 destroyed, 1 disabled)

Assaulting units:
2nd Marine Raider Battalion
182nd Infantry Regiment
193rd Tank Battalion
34th Infantry Regiment
147th(Sep) Infantry Regiment
2nd Marine Regiment
132nd Infantry Regiment
8th Marine Regiment
2nd USMC Engineer Regiment
2nd/102nd Infantry Battalion
30th NZ Battalion
1st Marine Raider Battalion
276th Coastal Artillery Battalion
161st Infantry Regiment
3rd/102nd Infantry Battalion
1st USMC Air Wing Base Force
97th Field Artillery Battalion
134th Field Artillery Battalion
I US Amphib Corps /1
148th Field Artillery Battalion
810th Engineer Aviation Battalion
205th Coast AA Regiment
811th Engineer Aviation Battalion
2nd Marine Defense Battalion
Nandi Base Force
110th USA Base Force /1

Defending units:
8th Engineer Regiment
4th Tank Regiment
14th Division
4th Brigade
Guards Tank Division
19th Ind. Engineer Regiment
1st Hvy.Artillery Regiment
24th JNAF AF Unit
8th Mountain Gun Regiment
2nd Air Division
56th Field Artillery Regiment
36th JNAF AF Unit

The Assault value ratio makes one wonder if the Allies should attack (Jap assault strength went from 458 to 469). Some of the Allied units are not prepped at all. As discussed before, our suspicion is the Japs aren't fully prepped either. I'm not sure who would come out ahead on prep. There is no intact Allied HQ unit so I don't think we could get a leader bonus.

The Japs did not attack Suva today, instead, another 59 Zeroes and 38 Oscars swept over Nadi. Amazingly only one P-40 was reported lost. The B-26's attacked gamely but suffered 3 losses and no hits on shipping, but somehow downing one Zero.

Fighters from Shokaku, Hiryu and Hosho were flying CAP over Nadi. There was an ineffectual Betty raid on Nadi. Jap Betty and Nell readiness at Noumea seems to be in the toilet. I will find out when I get home if Suva is airfield is combat ready.

Correction: I now think the force at Nadi is the original landing force....it is just shrinking. Yubari is still the flagship.
