Only my opinion but you should stay with the country you started with. ;)

HEY!! It could be worse. I could have been stuck with the Dutch. ;)

If I'm stuck with Spain, then I guess I'll have to roll over the USMC next since they are in the minor countries bracket. You wouldn't have a problem with that, would you VikingNo2? :p

Scharfschutze pastes Capt. Pixel and moves on to Round Two.

And I'll cheer him all the way to the top. (This is who you should have voted for ;) )

Was there ever a decision made on a 'Losers Ladder'? :D

Thanks a lot!

If you want to read of a disastrous defeat I´m being handed, look up the World War III thread in the AAR/DAR forum. Things are brightening somewhat now, but I´d be proud to get a draw out of that one. Rokondo sure knows his ropes, and has been taking my poors sovs apart. And again, my heavy mortars ravage the enemy infantry;)

Everybody who made it to the round 2, please check in so we can match you. If somebody is still playing round 1, hurry up.

I thought I had posted the results from BJZuels and my game, but it looks like I didn't. Anyhow, I was able to pull out a victory on a draw -

Oxtane 6250
BJZuels 3100

Good luck to Bill in the second round.

Round 1 ends on Friday, August 23rd. If you haven't checked in by then, that's life. Saturday new match ups will be posted so ppl can start duking it out over the weekend.

Were you planning any kind of 'Back Ladder' for those of us who failed to win their first match? :)

What kind of setup for 'black ladder' did you consider?

Hi !
The "Balkan borderclash" between Yugoslavia (me) and Rumania
(Skryking) never got past the setup as i never got any reply after mailing the files the first time over a month ago.

Due to this, and upcoming holiday abroad with heavy workload after that, i hereby withdraw from the WC, this time... :)

Good luck to all of you, and keep up the good DAR-work!

Kind of a Double Elimination setup. (You've got to lose twice to be 'out')

Those who lost their first battle (like me :( ), go through a second round with others who lost their first battle.

If you lose a second time, you're out. If not, you play your next round against those who lost their Second round World Cup battle (yet to be determined).

The winners of the second round 'Back Ladder' go on to battle the losers from the third round of the World Cup, etc.

Finally, the winner of the World Cup front round battles the winner of the Back Ladder.

This way, it would be possible for a player to lose one (and only one) battle and still win the World Cup. :D

Or I could just go sit in the Stalag and mind my own business. ;)

The " back ladder " idea sound's ok to me but lets add a little twist.......any of the winners on the back ladder have to take 25% less in build points when playing someone on the first ladder
:D :D ;) only kidding.........

I think black ladder is fine but how can we try the management overhead low? What I mean is that I don't want to keep a track of where everybody is at.
