How to do this ?
Seems to be an island and my LCU´s don´t want to walk over from Malaya mainland. A naval landing is actually no option,
so i thought i have it to bomb and then use the para SNLF units from Formosa. But i have not a good feeling for this operation...
Is there no other way to grab it ?

Hi,

I think you are looking for problems where there are none. I am pretty sure my PBEM opponent just walked into Georgetown from the mainland with a decent size force and captured it in a couple of days.

Although it may look to be an island, it is considered to be part of the mainland for game purposes. You can tell by setting the map option to "hexside details" and looking at the right-hand hexide of the Georgetown hex. It is green which means it can be crossed by LCU's.

So, the best way to get there is to land on the east side of the peninsula (Kota Bharu or Patani) and march westward to Georgetown. (That's my plan in the game I am starting.)

Ok, that was my plan, too.
But one of my LCU´s said it can´t march into that hex when i tried to give that order. Have to try again.
Thanks guys.

Not all hexes that 'border' Georgetown have road access into it. It's the hex on the Malay mainland to the immediate right of Georgetown only that has road access, IIRC. The others don't connect.

Yeah, you need to examine the hexsides carefully.  Tough for us color vision challenged folks.

Yeah, there is only one way in like the other guys say. From the hex directly east of Georgetown. Well if the LCU won't go then march some other stuff in like armor, infantry and engineers. LOL

I am pretty sure I have no problems getting there. It just takes a while and you need to be patient sometimes.

Personally I am still at the early stages of my games and so am not quite there yet but soon, very soon!! :-))
