Hi
I was asked to post this here, which makes it a double post. I also see others have asked the same question, without apparently getting it resolved. Hopefully I'll get help.

For some reason the in-game language is German.
All information during installment is English.
There is no option to choose install-language.
The splash screen is in English.

I bought this game from Matrix online store.

I am quite sure I have played the game in English. Why it is German now I have no idea.

I am using Vista.

In my installation of the original game (not the Gold edition), there is a file C:\Program Files\CDV\Commander - Europe at War\Settings.txt. The first line of that file is Language. Set it to zero and you get a popup when launching the game to select the language.

If that doesn't save the value, just enter '1' for English. '6' is German.

That may not be the complete story, however. There are also six text files under C:\Program Files\CDV\Commander - Europe at War\data that have a 3 character language suffix.

I have learned all this because I purchased a copy in Germany while there on a business trip, expecting to be able to select English during installation. Sadly it is not possible, but maybe what I learned will help you.
