Axis, February 24th, 1941

Once Moscow falls completely, some German tank units will be deployed south to reinvigorate the North African theater.

Axis, March 1st, 1941

The tanks so far tied down at Moscow can be released in time for the '41 summer campaign in Russia and the desert.

I find this AAR the most interesting of all for ToW. Chuck's defense in the East against overwhelming odds, after losing the possibility of lend-lease, Chocolino's relentless, methodical drive, and the very unusual air war in the desert. The latter is a first for any AAR, I believe.

Gary, thank you for the flowers. It has been very enjoyable to play and write this.

The conquest of the USA has given the game certainly a new flavor and opened up options for the Axis that otherwise would have not been available. I admire how Chuck holds things together in the USSR even though it will not be easy to turn things around without outside help.

We are very worried about the possible actions the Royal Navy can take in the Atlantic - or even the Med. They can have complete naval superiority in either but are vulnerable to air attack in several sea zones. We control those sea zones very tightly by air to get an early warning of any planned activities even if this means that several bomber units are not available for ground support. But otherwise we have nothing to counter the naval threat directly.

Malta is another thorn in our side. We loose almost every turn 2 STP via event.

Yes, this has been different, and I trust no one will ever, ever, lose the USA again!

No pictures of the desert but German tanks move into position at ElAlamein and we gain slowly the upper hand in the air war. Our main focus remains the USSR.

The Soviets have still significant production despite our land gains and can put up a stiff resistance. But they have decided not to defend the open country south of Rostov and we can move towards the Caucasus fast.

Volhov is lacking the cargo handling aparatus of a full port.  We are running what we can in by all means, but hunger is starting to bite at Leningrad.  Leningrad is doomed to be a hungry city during this war.

Leningrad is still supplied and Perm becomes a fortress. But we can penetrate the narrow fortified northern entry into the Crimean and also expand towards the Caucasus.

A brilliant move by Chocolino and a shocking development for you Chuck.

I must ask if you ever considered an attempt to liberate the USA?

No.

The "USA" has a single port.  I suspected my opponent would probably garrison it.

Axis, May 1st, 1941

The crucial summer campaigning season of '41 is about to start. The USSR appears to focus on the defense of the far east and so far seems to abandon the approaches to the Caucasus.
