How can I adjust the top bitmaps to look like this?

You can shrink your aircraft to this size, but you will always see the gun flashes appear in their default location and the combat animations will be strange as flashes appear far from the wings or cowling. Also the little F4F you see is pasted on top of the background screen. I don't believe that the alpha mask will behave as nicely in the game when we're talking about something less than 20 pixels across. There will be some erratic outlines and stray pixels with aircraft that small.

Kinda figured that, would require a major effort.

Thanks for the reply.

Looking very good, can't wait to see them ingame myself.

Sorry for this rather silly question, but will these cause problems in an ongoing PBEM?

Also, I would be interested in seeing a version with realistically scaled planes like you showed earlier. Is there any chance that you would do something like that?

Changing the planetop art will not affect your PBEM in any way.

Scaled planes are not going to happen, but someone else could take a crack at it. Reasons stated earlier that the gunfire animations would not be anywhere close to matching up. Also the alpha mask would have to be flawlessly matched with an aircraft image that is around a dozen or so pixels across--hard to get that perfect on such a small scale.

I installed the plane Tops, and backed up my original skins, however ever since then I am crashing my game just about every turn, requiring me to reverse the skins to original. Is there anyway to get help to try to fix this? I did notice some plane skins are missing, perhaps I downloaded the CHS skins and not the stock for AE?

Misconduct - They're the ones in the bottom section on Cathartes site. But make sure you D/L the files under *New* for AE

Amazing work, Cathartes! Really makes the air combat screen look better.

I also wanted to ask: can we (or anyway else) use your planetops as a part of artwork for mods? Giving the credit where it's due, of course.

Really impressive!! Thank you for your work, downloading right now.

Edit: are you gonna work on planesides also sometime in the future? Your WitP planesides always were my favourites...

Edit2: is there a reason why the allied planetop files are actually smaller than the original ones?
