So after about 7 games (restarting all them early due to ecinomic crashes in everyone of them - 1.02 seems to have remidied this or fixed whatever bugs of distribution and economy the patch notes refer to) because the very next game I played I prospered well and for a long time. That is until the revolution.

Once you play a single game for about 5 to 6 hours (for me) the map just became chaos and non stop messages of planets refusing to pay up and rebelling. Even though my private sector was flourishing (i had about 45 colonies when I started losing control). And I had over 3 million in my treasury with +100k in gains, suddenly I get this pop up that about 30% of my empire just up and revolted and created thier own empire and immediatly war dec'd me. I thought wow this is an interesting twist. Considering I had humongo fleets I started to recapture what had revolted and without mercy. The slow tedious job of planet hoping and moving troop fleets begun. After a couple hours I had managed to regain 1/2 of what had revolted and once AGAIN I get the revolution pop up that my empire splits and of course immediatly war decs me. So now I have 2 revolting empires 1 considerably weak with my re-conquest of them and this fresh one which was literally 1/2 of what I had again. I gave up shrotly after this point. I had 10 AI's on this map and I was doing really well but on the 2nd revolt 6 of those 10 AI's also declared war or trade sanctioned me due to lowered status in the galaxy.

The game just become an absolute mess and I had no idea what to do or how to counter anything. I really like the game but I don't see how my empire became so revolting if I had all of my luxury demands covered, mediocre taxes, and I wasn't even at war with anyone until my first revolt.

Any tips on preventing revolution would be nice. I had at least 30% of the galaxy (400 star map) and I thought I was doing well but apparently my citizens did not for some totally unknown reason.

Another question I have. How can you set ships to a home system. I like to keep static defenders on auto in thier systems but I find all my automated static defenders end up flying off to god knows where. I want the ships I set to a system to operate in that system ONLY. I notice on fleets you can set a home system can you not do this on automated escorts and system defenders? Makes sence to beef outter systems and your inner core can somewhat be lighter on defense but my ships just went every where with no real co0ordination or reasoning.

Also when it comes to designs. If I equip guns and such on newer freighters for the private sector. I upgraded some freighters to have a few guns on them for self defense but even after 3-4 hours of play I didn't notice any of my new designs ever in use. I understand a new design you will have to wait a while to see it (new purchases and eventual retrofits) but after like i said 3 - 4 hours I still saw none. (or at least didn't notice any) even when I went oout of my way for 10-15 minutes just clicking random private freighters.

My biggest beef though is how to prevent revoultions and empire splits. I also noticed it happened to the ai's because on the compare graph screen the game originally started with me and 10AI's and when I gave up there was 16 in the list (2 of which were from my own revolts) and coinsidently all of the revolts were human (me and 2 of the AI's were human). It's obvious all empires hit a peek and eventually split or destroy themselves.. history shows us this. but my empire was thriving and all demands being made... i just don't get it.

This remembers me of a recent well written AAR.
