5th Air Division assets reporting following air attacks over enemy forces at Manila:

1.- 25 Ki-48, 29 Ki-30, 3 Ki-21, 11 Ki-36 and 14 Ki-51 escorted by 46 Ki-27b have strike 1st P.A.Division reporting 14 enemy casualties.
2.- 6 Ki-27b escortign 11 Ki-21-IIA have strike enemy Cavite Naval BF reporting 1 vehicle destroyed.

Manila have been bombed by our ground forces. 49 enemy casualties.
2nd Heavy Arty Bn have landing at Batangas and will join with XIV Army at Manila nearby area to support next shock attack against enemy defenses.

(1) Air Strikes

Enemy AVP was reported hit by G4M1 at naval search mission off Sumatra waters.
AVP Poolster was sunk by torpedoes launched by G4M1 off Sumatra.
At afternoon, our G3M2 (18) reports the sinking of HDML Pennigat and HDML Panji near Medan.

(2) Tarakan Ops.

CRUDIV 7 under RADM Takeo Kurita have smashed enemy facilities at Tarakan. Our cruisers reporting 1 OS2U destroyed at ground (another 4 spotted on AF). AG Albatross struck by 2 shell hits, AVP Valk struck by 3 shell hits, PT Q-113 struck by 1 shell hit and PC Formalhaut struck by 3 shell hits. 58 enemy casualties were reported at ground with 5 gun disables from Tarakan Coastal Gun Bn. 58 Runway hits and 11 Port hits were reported too. HIJMS Suzuya was hit by 1 CD hit reporting 12 system damages (0 major). CRUDIV 7 steaming north to H.K. to reload and replenishment. Will rendezvous with COMBINED FLEET, MAIN BODY to Western D.E.I. Naval Ops.

(3) Sumatra Preps

I and II/4th Bns at Kuching prepping Oosthaven
11st Shipping Engineer Regiment at Miri prepping Oosthaven
20th Ind.Engineer Regiment at Hong Kong prepping Oosthaven

Yokosuka 1st and Yokosuka 3rd SNLF at Kuching prepping to Praboemoelih
1st and 2nd IJA Parachute Regiments aboard shipping in route to Kuching prepping to Praboemoelih.

III/4th Infantry Bn at MIri prepping to Toboalli.

38th Division B and C Det prepping to Palembang.

All forces will be ready to be shipped when CARDIV 1 and CARDIV 2 will be reloaded and replenished at Takao (3rd Fleet). All forces will be under my Command for the Sumatra Naval Operations. Orders have been dispatched to 22nd Air Flotilla to recon ops over targets.

CARDIV 3 & CARDIV 5 will rendezvous with Timor Expeditionary Force (21st Infantry Division) at Babeldaob.

Malacca has fallen in our hands ! I can annouce that Imperial Japanese Army forces under my command have captured Malacca with heavy air close support. 996 enemy casualties were reported with 166 enemy squads destroyed. 1 enemy unit was eliminated with another 3 fleeing to Johore. Our forces, exhausted after pursuing enemy for weeks will rest for 1 day. 3rd Air Division strike with 12 Ki-32 and 22 Ki-51 enemy positions reporting 19 casualties on 5/2nd Punjab Bn.

XXV Army backbone will be transfered by strategic move (railway) from Kuala Lumpur to Malacca at once.

3rd Air Division dettached elements have strike enemy population at Liuchow. Like Guernica at Spanish civil war was a Luftwaffe experimental terror target we need our own experience in terror campaigns. Liuchow have been selected to be our biological warfare test. We will check our outcomes. Today our pilots reporting 32 manpower hits with 20.488 fires. City is burning from beggining to end. Gasu Butai and Kagakusen Shizai Special Units (gas and chemichal warfare) will be transfered to Haiphong to support at our aircraft unit in this special kind of war. Enemy must be burried under our bombs. China will be eliminated from the War.

For the other hands, units from 3rd Air Division at Canton are supporting our raid over enemy airfields on Liuchow. 12 Ki-27 escorted 22 Ki-36 reporting 3 Ki-27 downed by enemy and 25 runway hits over enemy AF. Another raid with 12 unescorted Ki-48 reported 9 runway hits too without losses.

At Pegu, 3rd Air Division dettached units have strike enemy forces. 28 Ki-43ic escorting 19 Ki-30 met 25 H81A3 on CAP. 4 enemy air pirates were downed by our fighters. No own air losses. 27 enemy casualties reported on 4/14th Punjab Bn.

DATE: Jan 20th, 1942.

(1) I-21 reported two attacks on enemy AMC raider PRINCE ROBERT. She was unsuccesfully searched by all 5th Fleet air assets and now our submarine have reported she has been sunk near her home. First unsuccesfull attack near Victoria with 6 torpedoes missed. The second attack reported 2 torpedo hits from 6 launched and enemy ship listing at fire and sinking quickly. I-21 C.O. reporting surface his boat to shot all enemy survivors. They have paid all headache in our Northern waters. They will not be more a disturb for the Empire. I request a special mention to I-21 C.O. for special services.

(2) I-154 was attacked by british destroyer escorting a freighter convoy at 40 nm east of Batavia. Another attack was reported several hours later and damage report confirms 21 system and 12 flood damage. Our boat is returning Cam Ranh Bay to join with mother ship and repairs.

(3) I-170 reporting enemy ASW attack by 2 USN Destroyers near Flinda Island (South Australia). No hits neither damages have been reported. Our boat will be at her war patrol area.

(4) xAK STEEL NAVIGATOR was torpedoed by I-18 near Noumea. Sinks is not confirmed.

(5) Our Eastern Australia blockade submarines have reported enemy TF is heading north sailing along the edge of the coast. Two days ago 1 heavy cruiser with 5 destroyers were spotted by I-8 in her war patrol area near Brisbane and enemy ships were heading north. She is shadowing enemy TF. No carriers have been spotted but report have been sent to 11st Air Fleet HQ at Rabaul.

DD Numakaze leads depth charge attack against enemy submarine spotted off Batangas by PB Kenko Maru. The last ship join to depth charge attack and both reported 5 hits or near misses on enemy intruder.

E Shimushu depth charged enemy dutch submarine near Signkawang. No hits were reported.

(2) ASW CONVERSIONS

Several xAKL (4) have been ordered to be converted to xPB at Cam Ranh Bay.

(3) ASW REDEPLOYS

Two hunter Killer groups will cover transit of 1st Air Fleet to Hong Kong.
Another two hunter killers will arrival tomorrow at Fusan to join with 14th Infantry Division Transport Task Force.
Enemy sub activities in metropolitan waters downed to minimum. Only one enemy submarine has been spotted in Yellow Sea and she is beeing shadowed by 1 Escort ASW ship from Tientsin.

5th Air Division strikes on Manila enemy defensive positions:

- 58 Ki-27 escorting 92 IJA bombers have strike enemy positions. 5 P-26 and 3 P-40 were at CAP over Manila skies. 1 Ki-27 was downed by enemy with the lost of 1 obsolete P-26 fighter. 20 enemy casualties were reported at ground.

14th Infantry Division will be available to be transfered to Southern Area Army and will be shipped at Fusan. I hope in one week will be unloaded at Batangas to support our final offensive against Manila.

(1) Singapore have been strike by IJA and IJN air assets like following:

First Wave (IJN) with 20 G3M2 and 9 A6M2 from Kuching (22nd Air Flotilla) have strike enemy airfield. 6 Ki-43Ic at LRCAP from Kuala Lumpur over Singapore skies have support IJN raiders. 16 enemy Buffaloes flying at CAP over Singapore skies. 4 of them were downed by IJN - IJA pilots. 2 G3M2 were downed by Flak. 1 Airbase hit was reported.

Second Wave (IJA) with 55 ki-43 escorting 132 IJA bombers have strike Singapore airfield reporting 1 Buffalo, 1 Singapore and 1 Vildebeest destroyed at ground with 26 airbase hits and 72 runway hits. 1 Ki-48 was downed by enemy flak. Enemy CAP with only 5 buffaloes.

Over Pegu, in the Burma front, our forces have strike enemy 4/14th Punjab Bn. 12 H81-A3 were at CAP. Our fighters reporting 2 enemy aircraft downed with no own losses. 36 enemy casualties were reported too. We flight with 28 Ki-43 escorting 25 Ki-30 from Chiang Mai.

3rd Air Division dettached unit (china special support) reports air supperiority attack over LIuchow. 10 enemy H81A3 pirates intercepting our raid with 5 Ki-44 and 14 Ki-27 escorting 34 IJA bombers. 1 Ki-44 was downed with another H81A3 destroyed. 11 airbase hits and 41 runway hits were reported.

Special Chemichal warfare (24 Ki-21 from haiphong) have strike Liuchow population. 2 H81 were at CAP. Our unescorted bombers report two Ki-21 downed with 18 manpower hits and 15279 fires on the city. Tomorrow this unit will rest.

53rd, 54th and 55th Construction Coys have been dettached from Kota Bharu 3rd Air Division HQ to be sent to North Thailand to support works on airfields in this area.

Our recon flights over Singapore reports two enemy submarines docked and another more at anchor...
Meassures will be taken

(1) SOUTHERN FLEET

CARDIV 3 with BB HARUNA TG will rendezvous with Timor Expeditionary Force, Zuiho TG and CRUDIV 8 in transit to Timor Island. 21st Infantry Division and 6th Shipping engineer Regiment aboard transports. Minesweeper Division will be reinforced at Ternate by 3 DMS.

(2) WESTERN O.O.B.

1st Air Fleet will arrive tomorrow at Honk Kong. There will be ready to support our landings at Toboali, Oosthaven and Merak. 38th infantry division with XVI Army support elements are being shipped at Hong Kong, Miri, Kuching and Babeldaob. All will be gathering at North Borneo in one week - 10 days about. When ready, we will launch our parachute IJN special force over Sumatra targets like first wave. IJA Parachute regiments will be second echelon in para assaults.
Bat Mobile Force at Hong Kong ready under RADM Renzo Tanaka. CRUDIV 7 will join with main body at CamRanh Bay. Minesweeper Division at Kuching awaiting orders and submarine D.E.I. blockade Force at their war patrol areas to report any surface movement by the enemy.
Air Supperiority will be the main target in the first stage. 22nd Air Flotilla will launch massive sweeps attack over enemy airfields followed by heavy air strikes over airfields.
Singapore Airfield will be supressed in the following days, 3rd AirDiv C-in-C reports.

VADM Chuichi Nagumo will lead the Western DEI (NORTHERN) Expeditionary Fleet. RADM Takeo Takagi will lead the WESTERN-SOUTHERN D.E.I Expeditionary Fleet.

HIJMS URANAMI, HIJMS SHINONOME, HIJMS SHIRAKUMO, HIJMS MURAKUMO will join COMBINED FLEET MAIN BODY tomorrow after beeing finished upgrade works at Pescadores. In the same way, HIJMS FUBUKI, HIJMS SHIRAYUKI and HIJMS HATSUHYUKI will join with 2nd FLEET MAIN BODY at Saigon tomorrow after finished upgrade works and will be available for service. HIJMS SHIKINAMI will be available in two days and will join with 2nd FLEET MAIN BODY.


(3) SOUTH BORNEO

HIJMS ATAGO was torpedoed by enemy submarine off Tarakan (1 torpedo hit). CPT. Ijuin Matsuji reporting 32 flood (19 major), 32 engines (28 major) and 9 system damages. She will head to Davao under heavy ASW escort to urgent repairs before be transfered to Kure Naval Yard.

Tawau and Sambas was captured today. 915 enemy casualties reported in our shock assault against enemy positions at Sambas. Sandakan falls without any resistance by enemy.

(4) CELEBES

21st Air Flotilla have strike Manado reporting 38 enemy casualties in two succesive air attacks with 22 G3M2 and 25 G4M1. Tomorrow we will follow with air attacks over ground enemy targets.
15th and 16th N.G.Us have shock attack enemy positions unsuccesfully. 300 IJN casualties were reported vs 357 dutch lost. Fortifications have been reduced to level 0. When captured, I have ordered to my field commanders to shot all prisioners at once. They are disturbing to our timeline objetives.

23rd air Flotilla HQ will be transfered to Ambon when ASW asset will be available at Takao.

(5) ENEMY ACTIVITIES

TB Manazuru was torpedoed and sunk by enemy submainre off Vigan. In our retaliation attack 1 hit was reported by our xPBs.
DD Isonami was torpedoed and sunk by enemy submarine off Kuching. After 3 torpedo hits she sunk with all hands.
3 B-17 were intercepted over Kuching by 12 A6M2. Enemy turned back. No losses reported.
4 SOC-1 floatplanes were intercepted over Batangas by 4 Ki-27b. 1 enemy FP was downed.

I hope it !... Under heavy ASW cover she will try to get Davao, and there will be under urgent repairs to get readiness condition to steam to Home to complete repairs at Kure Naval Yard :)

Hi Traskott,
Under command of CPT Matsuji Ijuin, a credited naval officer, HIJMS Atago will steam at cruise to Davao under direct ASW cover of 2 destroyers and another 2 in an ASW TF following her. I hope no more sub incidents in her transit. One H6K4 Det. from Babeldaob will be redeployed at Jolo to ASW air cover in her transit like an additional meassure.

After been spotted 2 enemy submarines docked at Singapore Naval Yard with another more anchored. 41 Ki-43 escorting 71 IJA bombers have strike enemy Naval Base reporting 1 Buffalo downed by our fighers with 1 Ki-48Ib destroyed by enemy Flak.

XAKL Sibolga was sunk after 3 bomb direct hits.

A Second raid over Singapore with 2 Ki-43 escorting 38 IJA bombers. No enemy aircrafts on CAP. Severe damages on port facilities.

Our recon aircraft report no submarine docked or anchored at Singapore.

SUBJECT: XV ARMY OFFENSIVE REPORT.
DATE: JAN 21st, 1942.

Our forces have crossed the Salween River smashing enemy defensive positions at Pegu. Under heavy close air support our forces have destroyed at enemy battalion with another 1 with a mauled indian brigade fleeing to Rangoon.

1.569 enemy casualties were reported after our shock attack. 147 enemy squads have been reported destroyed. Our losses 97 IJA soldiers.

III/143rd Infantry Bn will move north to recon Toungoo. Several Ki-15-II will fly recon mission over Toungoo too.

I hope in two weeks Rangoon will falls in our hands.

53 G3M2 lost from Dec 7th to Jan 21st.
93 G3M2 at pool.

60 G3M2 production rate in our factories.
We have take a decision to stop for a month our G3M2 production to save H.I.´s points.

D3A1 dive bomber:

11 D3A1 lost from Dec 7th to Jan 21st.
62 D3A1 at pool.

The same decision have been taken to stop our D3A1 production to save H.I´s points for one month.

H6K4 long range patrolboat:

5 H6K4 have been lost from Dec 7th to Jan 21st
17 H6K4 at pool.

Our factories producing 12 H6K4 monthly have been ordered to STOP produciton for a while to save H.I.s

DATE: Jan 22nd, 1942.

I-153 reports engage at surface enemy light freighter 40nm west of Port Darwin. 11 shell hits have been reported. No sinking confirmed.

CDR Aihara, I-24 C.O., reports enemy ship sunk after engaged at surface 40 nm SE Newcastle (Eastern Australia coas). 27 Shell hits were reported and our submarine break off and submerges after enemy ship listing and burning. Confirmed sunk.

I-173 report she was attacked by depth charges 40 nm SE Sydney by enemy destroyers. No hits or near misses. No damages reported.

SUBJECT: 21st, 22nd, 23rd Air Flotillas Report.
DATE: JAN 22nd, 1942.

9 G3M2 escorted by 7 A6M2 from 11st Air Fleet direct command have taken off from Rabaul after enemy AMC was sighted off Munda. IJN Radio station at Munda reported an enemy raider was spotted there. Our torpedo armed twin engine level bombers take off at once.

After 2 hours and half we receive the following radio message from G3M2 unit flight commander:

"I carried out torpedo attack against an enemy AMC and saw three certain hits. Enemy ship listing and burnt. She is sinking".

21st Air Flotilla reports air attacks over Clark with 50 G4M1 escorted by 27 A6M2. 9 airbase hits and 54 runway hits were reported.
At Mindanao, 19 G4M1 and 17 G3M2 support our forces at Tarakan reporting 14 enemy casualties and 1 gun lost over Tarakan Coastal Defense Bn.

23rd Air Flotilla nearby to be shipped at Takao to transfer to Ambon, reports 1 A6M2 flying LRCAP over Ambon intercepted 9 enemy (aussies) Hudson bombers over our ships there. No enemy losses or hits on XAP Buenos Aires or DD Wakaba (both attacked by enemy ACs).

22nd Air Flotilla reports air attacks over 2 HDML near Bengkalis but no sinks were reported.

Air Attacks over Liuchow:

1st Air Raid (AF and population): 12 Ki-48 (population) with 22 Ki-36 (airfield) escorted by 6 Ki-44 have strike Liuchow reporting 22 manpower hits and 5370 fires over city. 40 runway hits were reported by our Ki-36s pilots.

2nd Air Raid (population) over Liuchow from Haiphong. 26 Ki-21IIa escorted by 13 Ki-27 smashed center of town with a bomb rain. 34 manpower hits and 24.148 fires were reported over enemy town.

116th Infantry division bombard enemy positions NE Sinyang reporting 44 enemy casualties.
At S.E Nanchang 102 Infantry Regiment, 51st Recce Regiment and 22nd Division (Det A) assault enemy positions defended by 28th chinese Corps supported by 10th Group Army HQ. 290 Chinese casualties were reported with 355 IJA men lost.
40th Infantry Division was assaulted by 10th, 26th, 60th, 3rd Cav, and 5th Cavalry Chinese Corps. 476 IJA Casualties were reported with 327 chinese bandits KIA.
6th RGC (Det A) Divisin assaulted Lusu War Area HQ reporting 16 Chinese KIA.

That´s not true, for sure !!, the god of the Jap production is Mike Solli.
I am following closely yours and Seydlitz AAR´s.
