SUBJECT: ENEMY OILER SUNK
DATE: MAY 23RD 1942

Enemy british tankers convoy was spotted this night heading south from Colombo, probably in ther return leg to South Africa. My boat get a good position to launch torpedoes over the last ship on the right column and after a salvo of 4 torpedoes, 2 hits were reported and the enemy ship was sent to the bottom. Enemy tanker was identified like SS NORFOLD.

I must to deep quickly to avoid the potential retaliation from any escorts at convoy, but any of them were spotted... i tried to shadow enemy convoy trailing them at 8 knots, bearing 190.

At morning, I ordered periscope depth and we are very surprised to see all the tankers in our fire line.. the first in the right column was identified like Ferncastle. Another 4 torpedoes were launched and two of them struck at amidship sinking quickly under heavy fires. The first blow breaks the ship in two.

After this amazing victory over british, my boat will return to Pennang to reload torpedoes and to be replenished.

Long Live to the Emperor !!!

SUBJECT: SOUTH SEAS AIR WAR REPORT
DATE: MAY 27TH, 1942

At night time, 6 LB30 strike Gasmata. 3 airbase and 4 runway hits were reported. No damaged on airstrip.
In our unlucky first wave, 30 unescorted G4M1 (?) were interecepted by 15 P40B over Ndeni. 15 G4M1 were downed without enemy losses. This uncoordinated strike must be punished.
In our second wave over Ndeni, 8 A6M2 straffe Ndeni at 100 feet meeting with 8 P-40B on CAP. 2 A6M2 were downed.
A third wave with 15 A6M2 attacking Port (2 ships spotted docked yesterday), meet with 4 P-40B on CAP. One enemy fighter was downed by our Type-0.
The fourth wave with 23 A6M2 sweeping Ndeni reported no enemy fighters on CAP.
The fifth wave with 14 G4M1 reported 1 airbase supply and 2 runway hits.
The sixth wave at afternoon with 18 A6M2 reported 13 P-40B were on CAP. 2 enemy P-40b were downed.
The seventh and last air strike over Ndeni with 10 G4M1 reported 5 casualties, 1 airbase and 2 runway hits.

The enemy P-40E have been reemplaced by older P-40B. The attrition over enemy air assets at Santa Cruz Island has been a success. Enemy air forces are tired and out of first line aircrafts.. It´s time for a long time awaited air offensive against our enemies.

our ASW assets reported several success over enemy boats at Salomons:

A "S" Class boat was reported hit by a G4M1 ASW flight from Misawa Daitai.
A "Gato" Class boat was reported hit by a H6K4 flying boat near Shortlands.
A "Gato" Class boat was reported hit at aft by another H6K4 flyingboat near Rabaul.

Long LIve to the Emperor!
