The whole Ozawa commanding in two places at once thing was bothering me enough that I fixed it and sent the replacement files to Stanislav to upload onto the sharing site. It was a very small thing but I decided to simply fix it.

This should be the final version of the Mod unless a major issue is discovered as players work their way deep into the Mod. Anyone finding something, please Post it here.

RA is a great mod and i'm playng it with pleasure
but what about the secret weapon submarine Class I 400?
it would be amazing if japanese could develop this submarine and the planes associated, isn't it?

Those SS are still present. I didn't touch the Sub Fleet at all in the Mod. Yamamoto, to my research, never really commented on the I-Boats so I left things as is.

If I had my drothers, a whole bunch of changing would go on but I couldn't justify it within the scope of the Mod.

Yamamoto, no, because he died before, but his successor did it , unfortunately too late for the japanese and the raid on 1945 of the four I400 class subs ended badly one was captured by the US Navy.
it would be interesting to build the I 400 Class in the game with the appropriate bombers but as specialists said no chance for the empire to change the curse of the war 'cause it was too late in 1943.
could you imagine 4 subs with 4 bombers each close to New york ??
what the hell !!!!

I got the Scenario 70 files loaded no problem.  When I unzip the art file, either the one sent or the one on file share, all I have are 3 bitmap images showing Japanese air frames.  Assuming I have this right, where do I put these 3?  If I have it wrong, what & where can I get what I am missing?

<edit> N/M, found it.

Are these 3 bitmaps the only ones I need?

I've got Red Lancer and FatR working on the artwork. Everything SHOULD be in the folders. Has anyone else had issues?

The only thing missing at this point should be Juan's art for Agano-CL and Shokaku-Kai. It is to be added to the art files while some planes will be moved around for compatability sake.

I've been working on a private mod, based on this one, and noticed some (more) data issues:

First, the Kawachi's 44/2 and 45/1 upgrade adds the Type 13 radar but the number and turret field is 0.

Second, and this is a bit different: While doing some research for my mod I noticed, that 'Akigumo' is a 'Yugumo' class destroyer in the game, while according to http://www.combinedfleet.com/yugumo_n.htm she was of the Kagero class.

Also written here are two puzzling things:
First, the article says, that these destroyers were entering service the same time as the Type 22 and Type 13 radars were becoming available, which is quite interesting considering that we only get these radars at the end of '43. Does anyone know anything why is this so?
(EDIT: I must have misunderstood something as Kaigun's radar page http://www.combinedfleet.com/radar.htm states them to become operational in '44/09 and '43/3 respectively)

Second, the article also says that no 'Yugumos' had their 'X' turrets removed to make space for additional machine guns. In the game this mount gets removed in the 43/12 upgrade.

Keep finding those errors Good Sir! Appreciate it a bunch.

What are you doing with your Mod?

Those articles sound interesting. Will read then later today.

Hi John, Don’t know how it is in your mod, but we found a couple more grits with J DDs that we are fixing in DaBabes.
Kagero- Wpn 1, 2 should be 1670 (type C) not 1699 (type B)
Asashio- Wpn 1, 2 should be 1670 (type C) not 1699 (type B)
Shiratsuyu- Wpn 1, 3 should be 1670 (type C) not 1699 (type B) and Wpn 2 should be 1673.
Hatsuharu- Wpn 2 should be 1672.
This has an impact on nominal AA because the type C was an SP mount, while the type B was a DP.

@Zsolo
Thanks for the heads up on Akigumo. If it confirms (no reason why it wouldn’t) we’ll include it in DaBabes.

Thanks John. I'll take a look at the database and see what they say. I know Juan fixed a bunch of DD issues with the first version of the Mod but don't know past that.

I am now working on the amendments to the art files - sorry for the delay. I asked FatR for instructions (monkey see monkey do) but I'm still getting really confused as to what is what - using the editor to check my work I can't see what's wrong. Just to make sure I have used new files that he has sent - not my originals. I should highlight that the only thing I feel comfortable with is painting and assigning the correct bitmap to slot not wider changes to the scenario files.

Firstly as I have realigned the tops and produced a new JTop_Alpha for Aircraft/Slot/Bitmap Numbers as follows as I understand they don't display properly:

A6M4-J / 613 / 14
A7M3 / 624 / 25
B7A3 / 636 / 37
G3M4-Q / 672 / 70
G8N1 / 680 / 73
N1K4-A / 717 / 120

I am told A6M3b Slot 608 doesn't have a planetop - It does in Bitmap 9. Am I going mad?

Next I am told:
"J6M1 (Slot 698) has the art of J6M1. It should be Ki-83 (Slot 824) art recolour and Yasakuni (Slot 736) has the art of Ki-119 when it should be Ki-67 (Slot 818) art recolour."

Does this mean that in the RAdm Universe a J6M1 is a Ki-83 in new colours and the same with a Yasakuni looking like a Ki-67? If yes then what colour? If not is this a slot/bitmap mistake?

I know FatR is busy at the moment so can anyone else help and whilst I have the files at hand are there any other glitches to correct?

It is WAAAAAY beyond my abilities! I do appreciate your work as it falls outside of your as well.

Did you get Juan's artwork for Agano-CL and Shokaku-Kai classes added yet?

THANKS Red Lancer!

Ship Art is done as separate files so that's just a question of adding them into the download folder.

Yes. Those are planetops that do not display correctly in-game. They seem to be incorrectly aligned with alpha images.

Strange... I don't see it in-game. Can anyone check his version to see if it is my personal bug.

Yes, J6M1 is the designation for Ki-83s althistorically supplied to IJNAF, and Yasukuni is often mentioned as the name for Ki-67s supplied to IJNAF in RL. I can try to search for historical color schemes of Ki-67s, but obviously not for Ki-83s, those never got into mass production in RL.

OK - now I understand. I'll add new "Ki-83" and "Ki-67" art for J6M1 and Yasukuni - rest is done.

Sounds positive. It'll be great to have all this ironed out.

I imagine people will be happy to have the art taken care of with their ongoing games.

I have now revised the air art and amended the scenario files so that the new pictures for the J6M1 and Yasukuni appear. I'll send them to FatR (copy to John3rd) when I get home. I will also send on JuanG's ship art files for completeness. I'll let someone else decide how best to package them for download.

Stanilav is loading the new Art Files today and this should take care of any issues regarding the Mod's plane or ship art.

Haven't heard if things have been updated or not as of yet. Will Post here once they are.

Ozawa was fixed, however, I will make sure that FatR is posting the most recent scenario file to go with the art folders.

I had to make changes in the Scen Files for the art - so if the file that Stanislav sent me didn't have the Ozawa changes then one or the other is going to be wrong.

Have you considered letting the Kamikawa and Sanyo Maru classes of seaplane tenders be convertible to small aircraft carriers? They'd be very roughly comparable to the Allied MAC-ship concept, with perhaps 6 or 7 ASW patrol planes, but the IJN needs all the help it can get during the convoy war.

Others have advocated converting tankers, but Japan can't spare even one of those; however, changing an AV into a CVE might be worth it. Just a thought.

One moment about the art: looks the air files I've downloaded use excellent Cathartes' planetops. I don't know if he's OK with using them in mods (I asked him once in the thread, where he posted them, got no answer), but at least he should be mentioned in the credit.

I hope, I'll post everything, including new art, tomorrow, once the last problems are solved.

So, links to the updated files. Looks like some art doesn't show correctly in my old RA game against Yubari, but when I try to start a new game to check, everything is fine. Except for Japanese scenario information. It is cut off after a few phrases on my PC, for whatever reason (still present as a file in the archive, so I don't know what's the problem). Planetops here might have limited compatibility with JuanG's mods, I believe (the old version were fully compatible with his mods).

Finallest Scen70 version:

Updates to ship art:

Cathartes' Allied planetops for AE, which you'll probably want to use, so that Allied airmen won't be ashamed to fly:

John, you can copy these links in the first post of this thread, so that people won't be forced to search through 15 pages to get them. AFAIK, there is no time restrictions on editing posts here.
