Summary of Operations 10/15/44 Southwest Pacific: Allied amphibious invasion force reaches Milne Bay in daylight, shore bombardment action during PM phase. Six Japanese LCU detected in Milne Bay base hex, 5 units identified (Kure 3 SNLF, 86 Naval Gd, two flak regiments (152 AA, 42 Air Defense AA) and 13 Naval Construction Bn). Elements of two Japanese infantry divisions (1st Guards, 110th) also reported in Milne Bay. Other parts of Jap 110 Division have been reported at Tulagi and in the adjacent coastal hex NW of Buna.
