Status: offline 		The counter attack of the escorts was swift, and a direct hit was scored on the American sub, bringing diesel fuel and sections of decking to the surface. She is reported as sunk in my information screen. Time will tell. If she is, then this is the first allied sub lost on patrol in the war.

Status: offline 		At Pontiak, he attempted to strike my surface combat task force with an escorted low level flight of Dutch bombers. My mixed cover of Petes and Oscars succeeded in breaking up most of the attacks and only CA Mikuma was hit with a 300kg bomb.

Status: offline 		My bombers bombed the airfield at Kunming and continued the terror raids on Wenchow during the turn.

I also landed at Rabaul and captured Jolo and Culion during the turn. At Rabaul, he attacked my screening battleship force with a unit of A-24 Banshees, losing several for no successes.

Status: offline 		Outstanding use of the B17s.  I really like the port strike and he got a big reward for his efforts.  The lesson of course is that he is not afraid to send his 4e bombers deep behind the lines.  That makes neutralizing as many large air bases as possible as soon as possible.

Status: offline 		Yes, but it is not more than a nuisance strike. You should not lose any ships and the risk to the B17s is too great. The B17 Ds are fairly easy to shoot down and the Allies have too great a need for them to risk losing half a dozen. They are precious-even if it just for training scarce bomber pilots in later 1942. They just don't have enough to waste. I would risk them only if I knew carriers were present in port. Guess I am just conservative......

Status: offline 		I actually agree with both of you gentlemen. I probably wouldn't strike that deep myself because one mistake could cost me the one of the few units that can do effective damage.
That said, Traskott is playing a shell game with both the bombers and the AVG. He is forcing me to escort bombers and ships even to targets and places where it is normally safe not doing so. He also forces me to move my ships out of the ports and away from his bombers because if I don't, then he will wind up destroying or significantly damaging many of them if he keeps striking. I think his ploy is to drive me to sea where his subs are off the coast. I am going to take the bait but I have taken precautions. I need to move ships to Port Arthur and this is a good chance to get them out of the barrel at the same time. Both convoys are heavily escorted and I have detailed multiple bomber units to fly concentrated ASW along the path. Time is on my side right now and this move will minimize my aircraft and ship losses without reducing the pace of my advance.

The USS Pompano proved that she is still on station off Ominato by attacking one of my ASW groups that were hunting her. Luckily her fish were once again duds.

Status: offline 		His forts struck again, this time at Cam Ranh Bay. I am pretty sure that he was flying at extended range so the damage was not as bad as it could have been. My Nate unit damaged three forts during the combat. I am sure that it was a long flight home for those crews.

My landings continued at Rabaul and I hope to take the place next turn.

I did capture Pontianak and Culapan during the current turn.

Status: offline 		The 11 year old freighter proved to be pretty tough, and her crew attempted to make San Francisco Bay before the flooding overwhelmed her. However, she did not count on running into I-22 which was occupying the next box in my picket line. I-22 finished the ship off before she could reach the shallows and beach herself. Several of the crew were seen in the water afterwards and local fishing boats were in the immediate vicinity.
