I've mentioned this before but did not get a response.

In many instances the A key does not work, neither does clicking on the auto symbol in the selection panel. It gets more complcationed however as if you press it in pause mode it appears to do nothing until you unpause.

I thought it had to do with having a current mission set but this doesn't seem to be the case as I've stop a number of missions, with the A key sometimes working but more often than not, not working.

Clicking on the auto symbol in the ship and base screen does however.

Ship/objects status is NOT refreshed during pause. Hence u wont see any commands issued during pause until u unpause and game refreshes status. The same goes for money info on main screen, it does updates ALWAYS in dock/colony list screen though. as for 'a' key i only issue orders by mouse so far, so cant comment :)

I never knew you could click on the auto symbol in the window.

I have had some issues using the "A" key myself though. It works to put a ship under auto control (adds symbol and takes control), but pressing it a second time I'm not sure it toggles (disables) auto control as the symbol doesn't go away (at least in the time frame I've looked at it).

The "Paused" issue I knew about and it pretty much makes sense to me - the only issue being that when "Paused" I still have messages popping up sometimes.

A(utomated) don't toggle, it's just enable it. To cancel it do S(top) or just give another command.
