I think you're both a bit embarrassed about it.... Still, if we had to lose a war, this wasn't a bad one to lose. America would never have become what she did without the revolution, not least because things like the British class system etc (had we still been in charge) would have smothered the ideals, dreams and hard work that saw her prosper. For myself, I've never doubted that generations of young americans sitting in barracks in Germany saved me from having to learn Russian, so you will always have my thanks, friendship, regards and respect.
