I just upgraded to a new computer and with the wonder of windows 7 I have been able to move over most of my stuff from my old copmuter. Problems are

1. My old stand by of Steel Panthers will not run, color pallet issues

2. I tried to use Close Combat wach en rein game, but it give me a error code of no key??

3. I also have other close combat games with probably the same issues

4. Will the new games coming out or the older games that are still for sale, will they be modded or allow a patch to be used to buy and use these new games. I held off on vista hoping that the world will really like windows 7.

Help

Are running the Menu or the Quickstart.. I forget which one.. but I got the key error.. then ran the other.. and no problem..

For Steel Panthers.. try right clicking on the icon. go to properties.. then compatibility .. .then check off disable desktop composition

Steel Panthers will be a loss, I found no way to get it to run on my system after trying to tweak everything. It could also be a product of the graphics card I am using.

You have two options.

1) Go to this thread. A poster created a batch file which is supposed to fix the color palette issue in full screen mode (havn't had a chance to test it myself yet)

2) Run Steel Panthers in a window. Shrapnel Games modern SPWW2 and WinSPMBT have inbuilt window modes and work fine (full screen will have the color palette issue). SP:WAW requires a third party program to run in a window.

Nikademus:

Totally OT, but what the hell is under your horse?

On T - I have not had any problems running games under windows 7. Steam has been a necessary evil, but otherwise...
