Hi Guys, Thanks for the feedback on the map. As mentioned above the map is still in alpha stage at this point. The main work still required includes: - Reefs (including the Great Barrier Reef) - Completing the addition of sea and land mass names throughout the map - Miscellaneous adjustments to land masses (to make them line up with hexes, remove unwanted land bridges ;) - thanks Rowlf - etc.) - Addition of more distinct shallow water markings - Tweaking some of the graphics and textures As for the projection - the actual selection of the of the projection predates my involvement in the project. As I understand it, the projection was chosen to be an "equal area" projection so that every hex is more or less equal in area. It does take a little getting used to but as noted it's a tough job to intuitively represent more than half the globe on a flat map. You should note that, in the game you will never be looking at an area larger than 1024x768 (i.e. the resolution of the screenshots) so the odd arrangement of the larger landmasses really isn't noticeable in game play. Please, if you have any other comments, questions, queries, complaints or suggestions on what you see, post them now. It's always easier to fix them early on.
