The resource meter says my computer has about 50 percent System, User and GDI resources. This seems to be making UV and other programs slower. I have a P450 with a 13GB HD, but 6 GB are free, so I assume that isn't the problem.

CTRL-ALT-DEL reveals the following applications running. I'm not sure what they all do or if they are needed (I have DSL). Can anyone tell me which ones I can delete? When I shut off some of them, my computer crashes.

Rnaap
Wkcalrem
Smasher (eliminates cookies and pop-ups)
Em_exec
Poproxy
Navapw32
Reminder
Itouch (for keyboard or mouse)
Systray
Hidserv (don't like the sound of a hidden server)
Wmexe
Winpoppoverethernet
Qttask

Poproxy - norton antivirus mail scanner
Navapw32 - Norton antivirus
Hidserv - I believe thats Human Interface Device - also for Mouse & keyboard
EM_EXEC - yet another logitech program
Qttask - stupid quicktime thing
Winpoppoverethernet - PPPOE software
(this stuff sucks -- get a router, get it off your machine)
Systray - where all the icons go down in the corner
wkcalrem - Microsoft Works Calendar Reminder
WMEXE - Winmodem crap
Rnaap - put the little modem lights in your system tray
Reminder - Windows auto-update reminder?

You've got DSL, right? Take our your modem. Its a Winmodem, and they can sometimes cause problems.

Logitech Mouse software -- I hate it too. Junk it, use the built in mouse drivers.

The less stuff running, the better.

Also, getting a DSL router will make your system more stable, as its doing all the PPPoE communication stuff. In addition, you'll safely hidden from the internet as well as gain the ability to plug multiple machines in.

I use End it All before each game.

I noticed that each time I played, and at least Norton AV was running, it would crash.
