Actually, a question first. My understanding is that a unit, after prepping to greater than 100, starts gaining experience--up to a certain level. So, as IJ, I am looking at my NCPC, RGC units with low experience. Occasionally, I move them from one city to another for garrison purposes. But should I not change their prep target, even though it is not the current town they are in, just to get to that 100 number? As to Kaifung, I find it interesting what cities turn out to be important. One month in, against the AI, and I find that this town is my jump-off town of choice. Units from Manchuria go to Jehol, get "converted" to different commands, and get strated there. At that point, we are moving towar Nanyang, eventually targeting Sian. I probably could take Chengchow, but I think I find it more elegent to cut the supply to those units instead. I pulled out of Iching early and moved the unit over the river--which I am glad I did. About to retake Sinyang. I realize China is probably a distraction for the IJ player, but I find it fun--and a break from the tedious march down Malaysia. Basically having a blast. As my first game, and not yet using Tracker (I know it is a great program--but my turns take long enough, and I consider not using it yet another reason the AI may last longer as an intereating opponent)
