Hello. Lurking for long time, played Witp a lot. Just bought AE and looking here to see some things. There is lots of things that everybody says, but much of it is not right, whatever why, do not know or care.

Can people here help with a top 10 list of people who know what they are talking about and who a newby can listen and believe.

Posted on the big forum but do not think I will get help from there so posted here too.

TY, Leafy.

I think you shouldn't throw away advice of severals peoples of this forum: i think each of them can bring you a little bit of knowledge.
Sometime it's by debate about a point of the game that a lot of people learn.

Let me get this straight.....your asking for a list of who knows what they are talking about and who doesn't? If that's not what you mean , maybe you might want to re-phrase your question. If IT is what you mean then.........

Can you see the break in your logic? If you don't trust my info, how can you trust my recommendations on knowledgeable posters. Most of the info posted in this forum is very good. With a young release of a game of this complexity if you are looking for perfection you need to research or test it yourself. On the other hand, I find if I ask a question that is reasonable and not obvious from the manual, a reliable poster promptly answers. I would tell you who I think are reliable posters, but I just can't see why you would believe me.

In order to know what is going on within the code with respect to the game, listen to the developers listed in your other thread.

As far as strategy and tactics go, I think different players with different styles won't necessarily benefit from the same advice.

I would advise you to get to know the game, follow the forum, and you will learn which individuals may provide the best advice for how you like to play. Almost all the long time members here have provided me with very useful information on playing the game at one time or another.

This game is deep and complex which is the great appeal to most here. That depth and complexity means that there often is no single right way to do something and it always depends on context. Stategies and tactics fail for many, many reasons as well. There often is no simple right and wrong approach to this game. That is why you will often see two or more veteran and skillful players disagreeing on here. Often those threads are very interesting even if contentious. Do not assume when two posters disagree that one is right and one is wrong. This game is too complex for that simplistic view.

That question is plain stupid because you will end up in circular reasoning. Posting the same senseless question in 2 threads doesn´t really make it
better, so in case you are not simply trolling I highly advise you NOT to play AE because theres a bit of logic involved.

There are other games out there where I am sure you will be happy.

@Gräfin Zeppelin: ouch, could you please stop writing l33t stuff? I always get headache when trying to read l33t stuff. In case I come as far as being able to decipher l33t stuff.

Boy, oh boy. Everybody does like to just pile-on don't they. Poor guy. Woof.

@Insurrection
Brother Chicken has said it perfectly well. Nothing to add except a word of caution, though. Not even the developers know everything. Some know about one area and not another, and so on, and there's things even the devs are still discovering. Yep, get to know the game and things will become more clear with time.

Ok JWE, I was probably a bit harsh. Was intended back then, is admittedly excessive when I look at my comment now.

Still I wonder a bit how what the OP describes about his experience and what his question is fit together.
If he lurked for a long time and already has experience with WitP he should get a picture of who can be trusted on what,
and would be aware that those topics which are sprouting elongated discussions are those where points of view differ.

Known facts that do not concern the liability of game mechanics can be answered by a couple of hundred people on this forum,
I have yet to see someone who answers either knowingly wrong or tries to mislead anybody.

Would you join a new forum and as a First ask for a top 10 list of competent people?

My advice would be to ignore everything written by those guys who post in THE THREAD!!!  They don't take themselves seriously at all!
