That dressing up like a weirdo in your first movie makes you absolutely irresistible to women 20 years later?

Steve, we both know somebody, who is really easy offended by words, no?

No.

Still, I managed to enrage him twice He always understands words in the most insultive way possible, I guess. Maybe he has fun being offended?

Is there a punchline for the rest of us?

Well, pneumonic plague (caused by Yersinia pestis too) is a much nastier form of the disease (and more deadly) than the classic "bubos" that form with bubonic plague. You can have either form manifest in a population. Mercifully, the pneumonic form is less common.

Yes, this one is a good candidate based on the reports of described symptoms of 'Black Death'. The one catch seems to be the lack of an explanation for the rapidness of contagion.

Don't know why I find this fascinating. Yes I do...I'm Martian.

Really? You easily offended? What on earth could I say to offend you?? Please,I'd really like to know (It might come in handy someday!)

Stupidity, condescension and hypocrisy are the quickest. Since I have not known you, or most of the Thread regulars, to be guilty of any of these, you have never offended me.

So in other words "keep trying?"

If its all the same to you, I'd rather you didnt. Besides, I find that people who are not used to it through daily practice are terrible at it anyway.

No, he tested his theory that a new page was coming up, and proved the theory correct.

I guess it's on my brain after my son and I were talking about them a few minutes ago.

For some reason all this talk of Yanks and Limeys reminded me of one of my favorite lines from Patrick O'Brien.

Aubrey is talking about a very painful procedure he recently underwent to extract a musket ball that was lodged near his sciatic nerve.

Someone (Mowett?) says "I have heard Americans speak of a sciatic stay".

Aubrey responds with "Sure it must pain them extremely to ship it".

Let me know if you need help with the war planning call, Mike. Glad to help so's you can spend more time with your kid's Algebra. Education is very important in today's youth. You don't want to skimp there. Let Steve and I handle some of your war planning-take a little load off of your shoulders, old buddy.
