Morning tithe.

Facing a large dilemma. I havent owned an actual copy of windows since buying 2000 Pro, oh about a zillion years back. Since then my computers have had those restore disk versions of XP.

I have discovered that VM Ware will not run sh*t for games...not Fallout, not Medeival TW, not even the old Sea Dogs, and I assume WitP is completely out of the question.

Should I just go out and drop $200 on a copy of Windows 7, or am I missing something.

VMWare? why are you running VMWare? Why not just put Windows on the tin?

Over the weekend I developed some hardware-software incompatibility issues not due to windows 7 but forced me to resinstall windows 7 twice before I worked it out. During that time I still got off two PBEM turns.
Windows 7 is a big improvement over previous versions in some very big ways.

It's not the os its the money. It's not like I plan on using it. I just need it to run the games.

VMWare runs Witp just fine. Graphical games...maybe not so much.

I thought AE graphics were pretty heavy.

Not compared to many (most) games. There are lots of pictures and the beautiful map, but there's really no motion or animation in the graphics at all.

Maybe I should break down and buy it. Certainly money better spent than on windows.

Pfft....real life is overrated anyways. You'd just do something silly like make personal connections with living people or sustain your physical being. What's that all about anyways?

Well, you're married and have kids, which seems to suggest that you have been successful in some of the basic human desires.

The rest of us still need to work at it.

What about basic Martian desires? Or have you transcended them?

The sad part is he's right. I find myself thinking about this damnable game more than many other earthly desires ofttimes. Seriously....
