And what happens if a 1 plane squadron is set on 50% patrol? Do they flip a coin?

Can one of you clear up a quick question?

If an AR is repairing a ship with major damage in an non shipyard port, it will repair the first five points of major engine and floatation damage.  This means a ship with 12 major floatation damage and 4 major engine damage would be repaired down to 7 major floatation and no engine damage over time.  If I had an ARD too, the ARD would (eventually) repair the remaining major floatation damage.

Do I have this right?

I think the pilots sit in a bar arguing about who is going to take the plane out that day.

I thought it ONLY repaired float UNDER 5 major. If it's 6 major float, it's repairing bupkis. Could be wrong, but that's my recollection.

Yes the ARD will repair all flotation damage, minor and major. The ARD will repair 1 flotation point of damage per day for a single ship, if the gods are favoring you.

So the Philippine air doesnt upgrade. They found a way to make pulling them out not worth the effort. Brilliant!!!

So the AR has a hard cap at 5.  It will not repair any major damage in that bucket if the total is 6 or above?

Is this correct?

My take is that a ARD will given time repair all flotation damage, minor first then major.

Edit; sorry disregard this, as you are asking about AR only this time, silly me.

But with a AR it starts getting real complicated, as it depends on the size of the damaged ship also, so One has to get a slide-rule out for an answer.

There is no Any key, you are probablly thinking of the Alt key!

Are you sure about that??

Additional lessons learned....

1) Betties are much more of a murder on transports than in the old game.
2) Suicide charges by the HK DDs are self fulfilling prophecies. The trio came up against 2 IJN DDs at night in rough weather. Only one of the 3 came out.
3) I love the new air combat model. It makes so much more sense now.

What the heck is an Improvised AFV?

Dear Thread!!!!

Looks like that coconut crab from Mandrakes/Simons AAR.

ROFL Edit: I just realized that I sent a unit of/containing these things marching across the Australian outback. That should be very interesting from their perspective.

I'm also starting to understand the Allied players' submarine frustration. Its not that they dont hit. They do. Quite a bit, unlike the old game.

Further exploration of AE reveals confusion.

Was Warspite really in Seattle at the start of the war?

For some reason, while going through ships, I had the thought that if I clicked on a KV I might see a very good tank. I saw a rather marginal bathtub with a motor.

Yes, Warspite was at Seattle, and KVs are not marginal bathtubs with motors.

Hi all,

I have this "PC Remote Controller" and it is great little thing (4$ including shipment from eBay)!

It comes in 2 variants - mine is smaller and black (I need it for my laptop / notebook) and the other one is bigger and silver.

Here are the "instructions" in "China English" .

Please read it and if you understand how to program A,B,C,D Hot Keys by reading the "instructions" please post here (I did manage to figure it out - but just partially)...

Warspite1

Yes she was. The Old Lady had been badly damaged, courtesy of three bomb carrying Me-109's, off Crete in May 1941 .
As with many RN ships during WWII, she was sent to the US for repairs; in her case to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, where she received a comprehensive refit and repair job between 11th August and 28th December .
