Hurt my index finger doing yard work yesterday. It's starting to blow up like a balloon

Your yard is blowing up like a balloon? Is there a balloon in it? Helium in the lawn?

Bruce is unable to reply at this time as he in the ER!!

He PM'ed me just before he went in. Hope it's nothing too serious.

Back from the ER. It is a puncture wound approximately 3/8 in deep just below the knuckle joint running roughly parallel to the bone. Infection had already set in and was spreading to the hand X-rays were taken to verify no plant material remained in the wound.
I have now had a tetanus shot in the arm and an antibiotic shot someplace else. Both locations and the finger hurt. I was told by 3 people in the ER that I should not have waited until today. What do I know, I'm an engineer not a doctor

I also have 2 prescriptions to take.

That's the last time I work in the yard without work gloves.

Geez Bruce. Two hands are definitely better than one.

Unfortunately, our brother only had the one good hand to start with.

Therein lies the problem. It's a pain typing without the second digit (as the nurse in the ER calls said finger)

Exactly. Which hand is the injured one, Bruce?

Maybe you shouldn't try to bend it until it heals....

I'm heading to a 2 week army school in Virginia.  Theater Sustainment Course.  Sounds real exciting.  They're going to make me do homework and take tests.  I'm going to miss 2 weeks of AE for that!

I dragged my butt out of bed at 5 am to get to the airport in time to get through everything to get on my 830 flight on time only to find out it's been delayed to 950.  Well, at least I can babble on here for another hour.

DD Mk. 1 decided that she needed to go potty at 4:15am. She needed to call out for mom to help her too. Mom grunted that it was my turn to help our 3.5 YO with her needs, so once more into the breach. Then, of course, DD wasn't tired afterwards. So up we were. DD eventually fell back to sleep on the sofa with dad, but by then I was awake, in spite of reading two issues of The Economist.

Of course, no turns in the inbox either...

I'd imagine Mike (The good guy---USS) is doing family stuff. I sent him my share of the turn yesterday afternoon. He's not responded , so I'd imagine he's out of range and without time. Care for a game of cribbage? (or a short scenario PBEM?).

What a good dad you are! You can remind her of this when she brings home that boy you really can't stand (ala Sprior!).

Well, Christmas and New Year's are behind us, and it's just about time to go back to the salt mines. Yay me!

I get a new co-worker tomorrow. Not a minion for me, but still... Might be interesting.
