I may need to take a long lunch break today and have a liquid lunch.  Our pal Harry is opening threads that are literally driving me to drink!

Ugh. I read the thread. I need a drink now too....

By the way, Mike-I didn't sink 6 BBs in Pearl Harbor. This game is borked!

No, with the results you guys got at Pearl, I think the players are borked.

There's a very good reason why this cretin is doing what he's doing, and it's nothing to do with the game.

Either St Cyprien for a beach-type holiday or maybe Castels (I think).

St Cyprien, for beach holiday, should be OK;
if you look for castles, i can find a list for you worth the trip. It also depend if you like old ruined bunch of stone or disneylike-castle.
Just tell what you prefer.
I can have a look this week end if you like

Hello Nik. Just so you don’t think you are alone with the dog thing. Am getting a Springer Rescue dog, named Skylar. She will melt your heart just to look at her. 9 months old, with some serious leg issues – couple of old improperly healed breaks, pain and muscular atrophy (pissant breeders that only care about the money and not the animals). Undergoing arthrodesis that will apply an internal plate that fuses the joint at the elbow. Don’t know if it will be successful, she might just end up being a tripod dog.

That’s not a worry, because all she needs to do is be able to hop up onto the bed and if she can’t, well .. she don’t weigh much so I can always give her a lift.

Anyway, she’s in surgery and recovery/evaluation in Tennessee, but her foster home is in Birmingham – only 3 hrs away. Looks like me and the Abby the hamster dog are gonna be doing some roadtrips the next couple weeks, till we can bring Skylar home.

Just wanted you to know you are not alone. Ciao. John

To my thread brothers, I am just seriously burned out. I'm not gone forever, just don't want to participate in the madness anymore. I'll lurk occasionally and say hi, here every now and then. This is the only place where the clinically deranged can find a modicum of comfortable insanity to relate to.

Ciao all. Tithe. John

Go find a stiff breeze and spend some time teaching your new mutt to enjoy the motion of a boat under sail.

You betcha, Mike. Bit different here from Cali. Knew that but it didn't internalize. There's the big boats and then there's the local boats. The big boats are just big boats - here, there, OZ, Med, Baltic - boat's a boat. Local boats are way cool; way more dinghys and in-yo-face class stuff. Mobile Bay has a championship series in FJs for goodness sake, where yacht clubs compete for a little silver tea tray, using Olympic sailors. OMG !! am I diggin this? !!

Sold the mid-size, kept the J, schlepped her off to Fairhope. Probably the wrong boat; an Etchells would have been better, but still a nice platform for the new dog to get her sea legs on.

[ed] Abby used to wander about in the pre-start maneuvering, crap on the foredeck at the first gun, and then go below. Hope she isn't a good teacher.

JWE,

Great to see you are not totally lost to the AE community. We need to retain people with the quality of your intellect.

To the thread brothers, sorry for the intrusion from this non thread brother, but I thought you will forgive the intrusion. Think of the greater good - after all if JWE is going to limit his AE visits, it is important that supportive commentary is posted to threads he will visit.
