It looks like the Martian and USS America are going to get snow or freezing rain tonight.

Shouldn't start until sometime tomorrow afternoon, but it doesn't look pretty. Mostly freezing rain tomorrow night and into Tuesday....kids are already being dismissed from school 2.5 hours early tomorrow to get them off the roads before it starts.

I'm freezin' my *** off up here, but you guys are really getting the drek weather there. I'd much rather deal with bitter cold than road ice, sleet and freeze/thaw nonsense (and the drivers to go with it). Drive safe, dudes.

Load up some rock salt in the old scattergun to keep the canabals and CHUDs away for a couple days, would 'ya?

We let Steve manage the "rock salt defenses".  I believe he has a few Geezer Deputies as well to help out.

Guess the Eagles is none to happy with their punter. Two missed FG's and the game ends 16-21.

I think their placekicker, David Akers, is in the doghouse. Their punter did OK, IMO. Still, they're the Eagles, so good riddance, however they lose.

You're correct, it was Akers. I mislabeled his position. My mistake.

Mike, IMHO there exists no "good" monday mornings, especially when it's the first working one after a three week vacation ...

Every day is a good day if you make it so. (Where's that pink, fluffy cloud smiley you use in the geezer thread?)

Post-gym tithe... I just realized the first benefit I've derived from working out. Ever since I started, I haven't had pain in my knee joints. Not once (knock on wood)!

My solitary attempts to make it so are easily counteracted by many others incessant attempts to make it not so.

Apparently a foot-plus of snow Tuesday into Wednesday.

And this time I'm not on vacation. Maybe my boss will finally realize the folly of being too stingy to pay for a laptop for me so I could work from home.

The question is, I'm not sure I want to work from home.

Looking like mostly freezing rain for us here.

And of course, my wife will have to go to work.

I read a story online today about a recent college graduate from Copenhagen University who (like many others) is unable to find a job in her field. She said she was finding it difficult to motivate herself to send out applications, because she'd already been rejected 30 times.

Let me repeat that: 30. Three-zero. The number after 29 and before 31.

I sent out in excess of 500 applications during the eight-month period I was unemployed after graduating. When she gets near that number, she can whine some more...

It's the way of the youngsters these days.  If it doesn't work out perfectly first time then it's too hard and we should just give up.

We'll just have to make a club then, and keep all of those sour pusses out.

Same here. Sara is driving to Greenville around 1600 today, but I think I've talked her into being prepared to not try to drive home tomorrow morning, but to stay down there.

Heh...

Since I started back in to martial arts in July, most of the rest of me feels quite a bit trimmer or more fit. My knees started being painful though...
