The Swedes are an ambitious lot. Comes from being drunk all the time, and having no women...

And driving on the wrong side of the road for so long...

I read recently that they came to their senses and did the right thing in 1967. An enlightened lot. How many other countries out there *changed* the nature of their driving midway through the 20th century? Seriously-can anyone think of another example?

You're becoming quite the expert on us Swedes, CB

Of course did we have to quit driving on the wrong side of the road. Only barbarians that keep dreaming Imperial dreams keep doing that ...

If at first you don't succeed.......

Nope, was a little unsure after LogBoy managed to steal the first new page with his 5 second hit.

Good thing ol' Winston was a productive guy, so I could just steal another speech and do it again

I don't know if you saw this when I posted it in Canoerebels AAR.

I thought it was quite humorous

There was a guy here in Sweden who tried to sell, on an auction site, "brand new snow" for ~$1 per cubic meter, on the condition that the buyer came to his home to take it off the ground

He actually got one responder, who said he will buy the snow, but he could only pick it up in June ...

I won Triglyceride Lotto.

435.

My doctor told me; "Your gonna die....."

Forget the Lipitor. (Ironically...my overall cholesterol levels were ok)....going straight to Tricor. Many a henhouse is going to be gutted in the next three months.

I always knew there were some kindred spirits out there about oatmeal raisin cookies. Most of my objection is on the cooked raisin side of things, but they make some good points about oatmeal too.

Caramaba! That is pretty high, Nik...

Technically, your doctor was right. We're ALL gonna die. Every last one of us. I was just reviewing a journal article from "The Journal of Irreproducible Results" about the inheritance pattern of death. Depressing stuff.

It would be ideal if you held the grim reaper away from your myocardium and coronary arteries for a few years though, dude. Sorry if that means more oatmeal and / or clean livin'...

For those oatmeal haters out there, might I suggest real Pin-cut oatmeal, not quaker oats, with real toasted nuts added for flavor? Fresh is the only way to go. And it doesn't take much more effort. Properly made oatmeal can be a treat if made well. If not, and out of a micro wave, it becomes undigestable bio-mass.

I believe you're referring to Homer's FATHER, Abe Simpson? Just because you're a "BOO!" away from a significant cardiac 'event' doesn't mean that we can let you slip on these details, dude.

In other news, my department at the hospital now has the winter's two first cases of Norwalk Disease. Oh, goody...

And Mrs McDull has caught my cold, so I've lost my commuting partner for the moment. Oh, double goody...

(The electricity went out for about 30 seconds in our department store. Shortly after the blackout, the following conversation took place.)
Customer #1: “It was weird how the power went out like that.”
Customer #2: “Yeah, but at least we weren’t in the elevator. Can you imagine?”
Customer #1: “Oh yeah, that would have been pretty bad. But not as bad as it would have been on the escalator.”
Customer #2: “The escalator?”
Customer #1: “Yeah, just think of how scary that would be! The escalator loses power and then woosh!” *makes a hand gesture to represent stairs going flat, becoming a slide*
Customer #2: “Oh yes, that would be awful!”
Customer #1: “I hope all the people who were on the escalator are okay.”
Customer #2: *shakes her head sadly* “Woosh…”

Reminds me of the SNL-scene were a group was stuck on a escalator and the fire department had to come to rescue them.

Anyone read Death is lighter than a feather? Its an alt history about operation Downfall. Somehow i dont see the american plans work in WITP. Japanese airforce concerving strengh and not attacking ships bombarding the coast? What a nice idea. In this game the airforce attack any TFs within range of the Japanese home islands.

I think at the moment my job is far more likely to be the BOO event than my heart.....at least if my BP was any indication. Despite a stressful day at work and a race to make my appointment.....it was a sedate 130/80.

still......gonna try to reduce the red meat content........not giving up pizza nite though. One has to spice things up otherwise why bother living long!

The escalator worse? Obviously they don't know that when the power goes out the bottom drops out of elevators and you slide into the nearby shark tank...

case in point......the dad unit (who has already emailed in his tongue lashing) has a TGL of 260 and is 74. So far he's avoided any cardiac events other than a scary incident recently with Tachycardia that forced an ER trip. BP medicine was bumped up as a result but it was not classified as an infarction.

Have read Frank's "Downfall"

It goes into great detail on Olympic and it's varients. A sobering read.
