As far as I could find, the photographer is called Francisco Negroni and he works for an agency called Agenciauno. He's from Chile.

I've heard of Agenciauno. Will tell them how beautiful Francisco Negroni's images are. What a powerful thing a camera is, in the hands of an artist.

Thank you Kristian. J

You're right. Sorry.

BTW I lived in Scotland for 15 years and still don't understand the fascination with Rabbie Burns. Haggis, neeps and tatties though are good.

Nah...like I said-being pissy.

Haggis didn't do a thing for me. I'll stick with Scotch and shortbread.

We put our former rescue dog down about 2 years ago. She was 16. A registered mutt (through the mixed breed dog club)-she had the papers to prove it too. Sheltie crossed with somethin'-God knows what-but very vulpine appearance, hence the name "Vixen".

She was a night drop off box case. Put into a shelter night drop off box when she was 5 months old. Probably her 'puppy cutes' had worn thin by that point and the previous owners were ready to move on to something novel. My wife found her whilest perusing the pound mates, looking for a pet. Vixen was the only dog in the bunch with a quiet enthusiasm-wagging her tail, but not barking incessantly or jumping around.

I'm more a cat person than a dog guy, but I loved Vixen. Kindest, gentlest animal I've ever known. Playful, well-heeled (get it!), clever and undemanding. She was a unique specimen too.

In this day and age with Schnitza-poos or Cocka-doodles or whatever-whatever elses are routinely sold by unscrupulous breeders and pure-bred puppy mills abound, there's an underappreciated treasure trove of good dogs in the shelter (or breed rescue) systems-if only more people would look there first.

While I'm definitely a cat guy as well, I do wish we had the schedule and yard to rescue a big dog. I'm not fond of the little yippy types. They make my booting foot itch something fierce when they get to yammering.

We both especially like shepherds and alsatians. Love to take a war dog but they are just too needy of attention and action for our schedules. We are gone most of 12 hours on at least 4 days of the week. Dog would go nuts.

in my experience, most "yippy" dogs are a product of thier owners, not their breed...doesn't make the foot itch any less, though...

Oh, there are breeds that are yippy by nature for sure. However, the owner issue is also true sometimes, in which case the boot gets doubly itchy.

You, Sir, probably have a pot-belly pig for a pet. There's no self respecting dog that would ever eat with a fork, and would never wipe their mouth on a napkin so long as their person had a perfectly good pair of expensive pants on! How dare you Sir.

Never had haggis, and won't miss it if I leave this world before I get to try it.

What I do hate is having turns waiting for me in the inbox and being too dog tired to play them.

Good night, Brothers.

One of my favorite examples of this was in during pathology rounds (a regular rounds staple, "Greatest Hits of Pathology") as a student in veterinary school. A radiograph of a staved-in chihuahua skull was shown attendees, who were made to guess the offending instrument. Hints were given: "A really, really, really yappy dog."

Partial credit was given for those that identified the wedge-shaped calvarium intrusion as a golf club. Extra credit for those that identified it as a sand wedge.

My dad used to buy a canned haggis at the Scotland House in Williamsburg, VA. I thought that it was pretty good - a little more flavorful than corned beef was my main impression.
