Indeed. 104 F predicted here for today and tomorrow. 105 F is the highest temp ever officially recorded here. Today and tomorrow, I believe in global warming.

Anyone interested in a bit of fantasy football (or soccer if you prefer to call it that) this season?

Ooh...you had me at 'football'. You lost me at soccer.

Watch for the Matrix football leagues to start up. Winner gets a free game download.

My first prize was WitP, and last year I won baseball and football: Harpoon Ultimate Edition and War in the East. I haven't played either of them yet.

I have the same problem with that league that most of you chaps would with the league I'm suggesting...

I have cock all idea who is good/bad/average in your version of football

If anyone is interested, but unsure, I'm willing to give some advice and I'm sure a few others will have an opinion. I just thought it might be an interesting side project for some of us.

Grey and crappy here. Fairly cool as a result. But I'm on leave so I don't care The clouds don't seem to be bothering Albert much either as he's buzzing around this afternoon.

Thanks for asking, Jeff. I'm back in the saddle, since the beginning of July, and I'm getting ready to take vacation already next week. LOL Hockey has been good so far this summer. My son didn't make any of the travel teams he tried out for, so he's just been having fun with it this summer. He spent a week at a "beach/hockey" camp with some friends and his favorite coach, and is wrapping up a week at Army Hockey camp up at West Point today. While he's been at camp this week, we received an email that the local organization is likely to hold another tryout for one more team at his age level, so he may have another shot at a team.

Hi all,

Vacation time starts in 90 minutes... back at work in September...

Leo "Apollo11"

Enjoy it, Leo!

I have one more day of work, on Monday, before my vacation to the Turks starts on Tuesday.

JUST enought time to flip that turn in your inbox.

Hey Mike-check out today's Wall Street Journal. They have a sizeable article on islands in the Cays that are for sale. You can buy some nice ones down there....

Maybe Leo can float you a loan with his winnings too.

There are some beautiful places down there. I have the real estate listing for this one bookmarked.

http://www.vladi-private-islands.de/sale/site/html/cms_de-sale_detail_en-1418/#

Oh man! That is nice. What a palatial home! A perfect place to host an AE summit, Mike. I heartily encourage your purchase of this fine property.

my shades look cool!

Which pair??

Here's one for y'all to ponder. Residents of Seattle purchase more sunglasses per capita than residents of any other US city. Now why would that be?

Because they want to remain in darkness the OTHER sixty days a year. Keeps things even. (Please note, when I joined this "fun club" I was living across the sound from said city).

My explanation is twofold:

1. We are so unused to bright sun that we have to protect our eyes in the infrequent times that it appears.

2. The sun's appearances are so few and far between that we have misplaced our last pair of sunglasses and so have to go buy new ones nearly every time it pokes out!

I agree that Emerald Cay is a beautiful estate and would make a fine locale for an AE summit, but don't you think that we Threadsters would more properly belong on the neighboring Silly Cay?

I'm pretty sure I'm the only Ami here who's remotely interested in intl football. Unfortunately, I'm really not a big fan of 'fantasy leagues'. I find them dull.

Or this...Last night on the local news. There is a town in South Dakota (Over by Rapid City) for sale. Scenic, South Dakota; population 6. Has been put up for sale. Complete with two stores, a post office, a township hall an other buildings. I'm pretty sure a bar they didn't say but every small town has one. Price.: $800,000. Hell you couldn't touch a descent house in New York or California for that price. Any takers?

Morning tithe... Frost is only -0.4 this morning, that is bloody tropical for this time of year. Also the snow on the mountains is thawing fast now, so it is looking more, and more like an early spring.

Early spring? It's July. That's like January up here. You shouldn't be worrying about spring until October maybe.

I think it's the hot springs, other miscellaneous tectonic activity and rising magma bubble down under that must be warming the soil early, Des.

Nope Andre, just the way it happens sometimes, I remember about thirty years ago we once had a spring melt in early August.
