Some great sporting events tomorrow and Sunday:

Wisconsin Badgers versus Nebraska Cornhuskers for Big 10 bragging rights. Michigan and (The) Ohio State University is tomorrow. First round of baseball playoffs with the Detroit Tigers v. the Evil Empire and the Texas Rangers vs. the Tampa Bay Rays. Sunday has some pretty good NFL matchups to boot.

For those of you that haven't seen "First Row Sports", I heartily suggest you check it out. Video feed from pretty much every sporting event, whether it's in Euroland, Africa, US, whatever. I don't want to ask where they got the video feed-ignorance is bliss....

http://www.firstrowsports.tv/

ETA: There are some annoying pop up ads that need to be navigated around, but it's no more annoying than Steam.

Just a state of mind there GBL, and it will soon pass. If I get grumpy, I also try to think things could be worse, like getting eaten by a Shark.

That would certainly be worse Des! Does not make me less tired though, which is where the grumpiness comes from. I had a couple of crappy nights sleep before my night shifts too, so have had an average of three and a half hours a day for six days. And I was already bollocksed before that!

Dixie's next AAR update should be a good read. He might be crying as he writes it though. Shame I can't read it!

Pfft. I'm not going to cry over the loss of some ships, fortunes of war and all that. What's the point in warships if they don't get shot at? Although I'm fairly sure I told them not to react

Felt strange being on the receiving end of a carrier strike though...

You have to be very careful with allied CVs before the 4/42 upgrades, because poor AA, ASW and experience mean you are shockingly vulnerable. Always operate with your tfs in the same hex to increase CAP and never put more than one CV in a tf. I got caught out in another game because I had not changed my threat acceptance settings and my CVs sat in a hex and let the KB chew them up because a CL was in the path of the intended retreat and the air combat tfs would not advance toward it.

I've missed waking up at 0445 on Saturday mornings for 0600 hockey practices.

Darn, I just got a phone call from my sister up north. It seems that their dog got injured during an elk hunt earlier today and had to be sent on into dog heaven. My sister and nieces are of course unconsolable. God how I loved that dog. Apart from being a virtual hunting machine in the woods, when around people she was one of the most social and kind dogs I've ever met.

May you rest in peace Isa.

Picture of from last years spring, when she had had her last litter of puppies that I used to show you pictures of.

Do anyone have that "rainbow bridge" text? Thought I might pass it on to my sister.

Sorry to hear that, Per...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
